Whether choosing an Origin character or creating a custom one, players have been pushing the boundaries of this feature with their highly unique designs since the game's release on August 3rd.

In another impressive display of dedication, Reddit user HiperioN_VIII recently took on the task of recreating Harry Du Bois in Baldur's Gate 3. The highlight of their creation was the meticulous recreation of the Glorious Muttonchops, one of the game's facial hair options that bears a striking resemblance to the iconic beard of the protagonist in Disco Elysium, albeit with a slightly more polished appearance. Not stopping there, the player went above and beyond by replicating Harry's complexion and other facial features, even going as far as applying subtle burgundy eye makeup to capture the essence of the character's party-hardened face.

This faithful recreation of Harry was not simply for aesthetic purposes. HiperioN_VIII took this opportunity to embark on a playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3 inspired by Disco Elysium. They chose to focus on their character's Wisdom attribute, utilizing its associated skill checks as a representation of Harry's inner Drama voice from the detective RPG. To provide context, Drama skill in Disco Elysium is primarily used for detecting and deceiving lies, with deception falling under the domain of Deception in Baldur's Gate 3, and Wisdom governing the recognition of falsehoods.

In Baldur's Gate 3, players have numerous opportunities to assert their authority as the court officer, even if they are not focused on being commanding. HiperioN_VIII discovered that by utilizing the Illithid dialogue choices, which are available once per Long Rest, they were able to replicate this style of gameplay. They transformed their character, Harry, into a low-Charisma Bard who excelled in Perception, Investigation, Entertainment, and Acrobatics. These skills, which are also present in Disco Elysium but with different names, were successfully incorporated into the character. This recreation of the Disco Elysium protagonist is just one example of many custom Baldur's Gate 3 characters that have been inspired by other popular franchises. Recently, a player managed to recreate Triss Merigold from The Witcher, adding to the growing roster of impressive characters in the game.
