Carson Daly’s worries about royal protocol were quelled when Meghan Markle told him to greet her with a hug.

Daly, 50, hosted a discussion with the Duchess of Sussex, 42, and Prince Harry at their Archewell Foundation summit in New York City on Tuesday, October 10. He enthusiastically praised the experience on the Today show the next morning. The former TRL host expressed his admiration for the Sussexes, admitting that he was unsure about the royal protocols. Fortunately, the Suits alum, Meghan, quickly resolved his dilemma by offering him a warm hug.

Savannah Guthrie expressed her admiration, saying, "That's truly impressive," to her colleague.

As for Meghan, she had previously shared her own challenges in learning royal protocol when she started dating Harry in 2017.

In the couple's Harry & Meghan docuseries in December 8, she revealed that upon joining the family, she became aware of a certain protocol that dictated how things were done. Drawing a comparison to the movie "The Princess Diaries" starring Anne Hathaway, she emphasized that there was no formal class teaching you how to sit, cross your legs, use specific cutlery, avoid certain behaviors, curtsy, or wear specific types of hats. She went on to express that she had to learn various things, including the national anthem, and that it was a challenging and intense learning experience.

During Tuesday’s summit, both Meghan and Harry — who share son Archie, 4, and daughter Lilibet, 2, met with parents who suffered great losses related to the effects of social media.

“For myself and my wife, as parents raising children in the digital era, our main focus is to transform pain into purpose and offer extensive support, as well as a platform for fellow parents to join together, find healing and solace, and collectively work towards preventing other families from experiencing the same hardships they have endured,” the prince expressed.

As the event concluded, Meghan conveyed to Daly that being a mother holds the utmost significance in her life — aside from being a devoted wife to this incredible man," she affectionately gestured towards Harry, her husband since 2018.

During their visit to New York to mark World Mental Health Day, Meghan and Harry made a special stop at The Marcy Lab School in Brooklyn. This esteemed institution offers a tuition-free, one-year program that equips young adults with the necessary skills for success in the technology industry. As partners of the school through their Archewell Foundation, the Sussexes had the opportunity to connect with both current fellows and alumni of the program. Engaging in conversations, capturing memorable moments through photographs, and gaining insights into the positive ways in which technology is being utilized were the highlights of their visit.
