Persuading characters in Baldur's Gate 3 happens frequently. One of the game's strong points is its diverse options for accomplishing this, such as utilizing Persuasion, Intimidation, Insight, or other methods to interact with the character.
However, the Druids in Baldur's Gate 3 have animal companions that they treat as equals. As a result, these animals are allowed to express their natural instincts. Among them is Topaz, a bird who has constructed a nest using gold coins and a key. The nest remains intact even in the absence of the Druid, tempting the player to consider taking these items for themselves.
How To Loot Topaz's Nest
Enter Stealth.
Loot the nest when Topaz faces away.
To efficiently loot the nest, enter Stealth mode and patiently wait for Topaz to turn away. Seize the desired items from the nest while remaining hidden. As a precautionary measure, save the game beforehand, as this act is considered theft and will not only provoke Topaz but also all the other Druids in the Sacred Pool.
Alternatively, magic users who possess the Speak with Animals spell can accomplish this task by combining it with either Deception or Intimidation checks. When playing alongside friends, designate the party member with the highest proficiency in these skills to attempt the encounter. Should this approach prove unsuccessful, resort to the Stealth strategy, which is feasible for any party.
Once players obtain the key, they should look upwards to locate the Shiny Chest resting on a stone pillar. Similar to Topaz, there are multiple methods to reach the Shiny Chest. It is important to note that if the Topaz method proves unsuccessful, opening this lock is relatively simple, making looting the nest a non-critical action.
