However, a troublesome bug caused Zorua to inherit the stats of the Pokemon it was replacing in the overworld. Thankfully, Niantic quickly resolved this issue, allowing players to carefully capture Buddy Pokemon without any stat irregularities. Occasionally, Zorua may appear as a shiny Pokemon on the map, making it easier to spot since shiny Pokemon are not normally found in the overworld. Zorua is known for its elusive nature, similar to Ditto, due to its transformation ability. Nevertheless, patient Pokemon GO players can catch Zorua and evolve it into Zoroark by collecting 50 Candy.
While exploring, Fataky, a Pokemon GO player, came across a seemingly light Cosmog that unexpectedly turned out to be an exceptionally heavy Zorua. The recently captured Zorua, named "XXL," has an astonishing weight of 1324 kilograms, roughly equivalent to 2919 pounds. Fataky attempted to resolve this by closing and reopening the Pokemon GO application, hoping that the Zorua would revert to its normal weight of 15.6 kilograms. However, despite numerous restarts, the weight remained unchanged. Seeking answers, Fataky reached out to the online Pokemon GO community, where other players expressed their bewilderment over the abnormal weight of Zorua. One Reddit user named A_MAZ_ING suggested that this might be a glitch or bug associated with Cosmog's evolution. As the Psychic-type Legendary Pokemon Cosmoem is among the heaviest creatures in the Pokemon series, weighing over 1000 kilograms, A_MAZ_ING theorized that the Zorua could have inherited Cosmoem's weight instead of Cosmog's. This could explain the weight difference observed by Fataky, although the specific cause of the bug has yet to be determined.
The Pokemon GO bug seems to only affect weight, but it resembles the bug that changed Zorua's stats during the Shuppet Spotlight Hour event last year. While Niantic fixed the stats bug, there may still be an issue with Zorua's weight calculations when it shows up as a Buddy Pokemon on the map.
