Aaron Rodgers is once again embroiled in controversy, this time revolving around his golf skills. During the "Pardon My Take" podcast episode on Wednesday, August 2, hosted by Barstool Sports, Josh Allen, quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, claimed that the 39-year-old Rodgers had cheated during the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am golf tournament in February, a tournament in which Allen emerged as the victor.

Allen, 27, who competed against Rodgers in the game, affirmed on the podcast that though he loves Aaron, he engaged in deceitful behavior. When questioned about the allegations, host Big Cat (real name Dan Katz) accused Rodgers of downplaying Allen's skills, also known as dishonestly misrepresenting their golf handicap. Allen retorted, "It's not just me who feels this way, the entire world agrees."

Claiming that he cannot confirm the exact number, Allen stated, "He may have received an excessive number of strokes, perhaps seven or eight at Pebble Beach, or nine," but quickly clarified, "I am not personally responsible for any of those strokes - this information is based on what other sources are stating, not my own opinion."

Despite the gravity of the accusations, Allen lightened the mood by interjecting a joke, quipping, "I believe Aaron Rodgers should be behind bars," with a laugh, and further remarking, "I suspect that many of the golfers may share similar sentiments."

Allen's allegations follow a tumultuous and contentious period in Rodgers' career. Recently, he agreed to a $35 million reduction in salary by restructuring his contract with the Jets. Although he will still command an impressive annual earnings of $75 million, it pales in comparison to the potential earnings he would have had if he had remained with the Green Bay Packers. In April, Rodgers was traded to the Jets following his 17-year tenure with the Packers, which concluded amidst disagreements with the organization.

Rodgers expressed his optimism for Green Bay's future, stating, "We've collectively transitioned into a new era, and I believe it will bring excitement." Speaking to ESPN on July 26, he added, "Personally, I've thoroughly enjoyed this experience."

Throughout his career, Rodgers has garnered attention not only for his performances in football and golf but also for his off-field incidents. In November 2021, it was revealed that the athlete had deceived others about his vaccination status, initially stating he was "immunized" despite testing positive for COVID-19.

Rodgers, on the other hand, stood by his position, asserting that his immunization statement was based on "the truth."

In an interview on the Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers expressed his disappointment at not being given the opportunity to elaborate on his immunization status. He clarified, "I want to make it clear that I am not against vaccinations or a believer in conspiracy theories. I consider myself to be a critical thinker who values personal autonomy. I believe in the freedom to make choices about our own bodies, rather than succumbing to societal pressure or the demands of certain groups."

One year later, Rodgers encountered another difficult phase when the revelation came that he and his former fiancée Shailene Woodley had called off their engagement. During that very month, Rodgers faced criticism yet again due to his contentious opinions, as former Packers quarterback DeShone Kizer disclosed that Rodgers had asked him if he believed in the events of 9/11.
