Aaron Rodgers' transfer from the Green Bay Packers to the New York Jets includes a significant adjustment in salary. The 39-year-old professional quarterback recently agreed to a modified two-year deal with his new team, securing a guaranteed payment of $75 million, as stated by NFL Network and ESPN. Nonetheless, this amount falls short by $35 million compared to what Rodgers would have earned if he completed his original four-year contract with the Packers, which still had $110 million outstanding.
"The team made significant sacrifices for this to be just a one-year arrangement. I acknowledge that. While there is always the possibility of unforeseen circumstances affecting my body or our success this year, I am thoroughly enjoying myself, so I don't view this as a one-and-done situation," Rodgers told ESPN on Wednesday, July 26. "We have all moved on to a new chapter. I believe it will be an exciting time for Green Bay going forward. Personally, I have been having a great time here."
Under his Packers contract, Rodgers is slated to receive a $35 million roster bonus and a $1.8 million salary. Once he completes one year with the team, his earnings will increase to $38.2 million.

After spending more than ten years playing for the Packers, Rodgers made the announcement in April that he had been traded to the Jets.
In an Instagram post, he expressed his deep gratitude towards the Packers, their devoted fans, the state of Wisconsin, the countless players he had the opportunity to interact with, the dedicated individuals working for the organization, and the remarkable people he encountered during his journey. Although he acknowledged that capturing the entirety of his emotions and experiences in a single post with ten pictures may not be possible, he hoped that his heartfelt words would convey the love, joy, and peace he felt towards his time in green and gold. Having grown up in Green Bay, being drafted at the age of 21, and developing a deep affection for the game, he also mentioned the lifelong friendships he formed and the cherished memories that will remain with him forever.
Rodgers expressed his gratitude to the fans for making every entrance onto the field and every home game unforgettable. He considered it a privilege to serve as their quarterback. He also expressed his love and appreciation for his teammates, emphasizing the close bond they formed on and off the field. Rodgers acknowledged the presence of legendary players and cherished the friendship he developed with his teammates. He thanked them for believing in him and supporting him consistently. Rodgers assured that this farewell is not the end, promising to return to Green Bay in the future as the city will always hold a special place in his heart.
