Chapter 4 in Separate Ways commences at the Castle, where Luis and Ada embark on a mission to obtain the Amber. However, Luis harbors an ulterior motive. He desires a suppressant, a short-term remedy for Las Plagas, in order to aid Leon and Ashley.
Unfortunately, as his laboratory has been destroyed, Luis implores Ada for assistance in sourcing additional ingredients for the concoction. This guide for Separate Ways will aid players in locating the essential components and acquiring any valuable items that may be encountered, all with the objective of swiftly completing Chapter 4.
How to Complete Chapter 4
Save Luis from the Fire
- Chapter Four: Collecting the Suppressor IngredientsIn order to achieve the main objective of Chapter Four, players are required to gather all three essential ingredients of the suppressant. This can be accomplished by visiting three key areas - the Bindery, Treasury Room, and Collection Room - and successfully solving five intricate puzzles. To assist you in this endeavor, here is a comprehensive step-by-step guide.
In Chapter 4, Ada is compelled to accompany Luis into his secretive laboratory. Unfortunately, they soon discover that the Zealots have set the lab ablaze, destroying all the suppressant samples. Amidst the raging inferno, Luis bravely leaps into the burning room, prompting players to venture behind him and rescue his life.
After that, Ada will be prompted by Luis to gather three ingredients (Red Ink, Golden Bottle, and Blue Butterfly) for him to concoct additional remedies for Las Plagas. This is where their paths diverge, marking the commencement of Chapter 4's primary mission.
Find the Red Ink in the Bindery
Begin by heading to the Bindery. Grasp onto the cracked window and make your way into the room on the right. In this location, players will be required to unravel two puzzles in order to gain access to the Red Ink, the initial component of the suppressant. (Refer to the details provided below).
Wall with Four Slots Puzzle Solution
In Chapter 4, the initial puzzle involves a wall that is locked and has two vacant slots. To begin the puzzle, players must acquire the two missing fragments. The first Lithographic Stone can be found adjacent to the wall, on the couch. The second fragment is located in another room, close to the Merchant. (To access this area, players need to move the closet).
Once both Lithographic Stones are in place on the wall, apply the following combination to unlock it: Up (Square Red Hand Fan), Right (Square Black Umbrella), Down (Hexagon Black Dress), Left (Hexagon Red Butterfly).
Bindery Machine Puzzle Solution
In the Bindery Room, initiate the operation of the bindery machine by rotating the wheel. Obtain the clue and examine it closely. Ultimately, target the shields positioned on the wall (adjacent to the fireplace) in the following sequence: Down left, up right, down right. This action will release the concealed drawer that holds the Red Ink.
Steal the Golden Bottle from the Treasury Room
To acquire the second ingredient, the Golden Bottle, players are required to first discover the Crimson Lantern that grants access to the enclosed room. In order to accomplish this, they must successfully solve the gong puzzle within the neighboring area and subsequently devise a plan to pilfer the coveted bottle. Provided below are the step-by-step instructions to tackle this challenge:
Gong Puzzle Solution
Proceed down the corridor adjacent to the statues adorned with goat heads until you reach a spacious chamber housing a colossal gate. Activate the gong situated on the left-hand side to initiate the unlocking mechanism of the initial gateway, enabling access to the puzzle area. Once inside, target the gongs that correspond to the symbols on the doors. Upon entering, the appropriate sequence is two snakes followed by three eagles. When exiting, the correct order is three eagles, three fishes, and two snakes.
Upon successfully acquiring the Crimson Lantern, place it within the vacant hand of the statue and continue along the path leading into the Hall of Tribulation.
Silver and Gold Gates Puzzle
In the Hall of Tribulation, find the dead-end on the left and acquire the Silver Bottle. Insert the bottle into the opening next to the gate adorned with a silver stamp and retrieve it from the opposite side. Proceed along the path and repeat the same technique in the Treasury Room to solve the puzzle.
After successfully procuring the Golden Bottle, a group of Armadura will confront the players. Exit the Treasury Room to unlock the adjacent door. Initially, position the Golden Bottle in the opening. Then, enter the corridor and substitute it with the Silver bottle.
The stamps on the gates imply the key. Use the Silver Bottle for silver-stamped doors and the Golden one for golden-stamped doors.
Grab the Blue Butterfly in the Collection Room
Descend the ladder located at the far end of the Castle Battlements and access the Collection Room by entering through the left door. Inside, meticulously retrace the scientific expert's path to unveil the hidden three-digit combination required to unlock the insect locker. The correct sequence entails the utilization of the Rhinoceros Beetle, Goat Skull, and Lizard symbols from left to right.
Grabbing the Blue Butterfly, the suppressant’s last ingredient, will conclude the fourth chapter in Separate Ways and set the stage for Ada’s next journey.
