Chapter 5 of the Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways DLC introduces players to an intense boss fight against the formidable U-3 (also known as Pesanta). The main objective in this battle is to locate Luis and retrieve the Amber. However, Ada must also navigate through the Castle, where she faces unexpected attacks from powerful adversaries, adding to the complexity of her mission.
This detailed walkthrough not only offers guidance on how to defeat the Black Robe, but also provides the exact spots where valuable items can be found throughout this action-packed chapter of Separate Ways.
Follow Luis’ Footprints into the Waterway
In Chapter 5, the primary goal is to track Luis by following his footprints. This will guide players to Gregorio's Waterway, where they will need to drain the water. To accomplish this, they must find the control room near the Merchant spot and rotate the wheel. Following the sewage pathway will then guide them to the elevator, which leads to the boss fight area.
While tracing Luis's footprints in the Castle Battlements, players will notice that he has leaped into a locked room. Rather than pursuing him into this restricted area, players should instead choose the left path.
Defeat the U-3 Pesanta Boss
In order to defeat U-3 in Separate Ways, players must defeat its Pesanta form by circling the area and aiming for its head. U-3 possesses three primary attacks: tail lunge, arm strike, and projectiles. To avoid the first two attacks, press B (Circle on PS) and refrain from hitting the larva when the projectiles are launched. The Blast Crossbow is the optimal weapon for this boss battle.
After successfully defeating the Pesanta form of the Black Robe, its tail will target Ada. To eliminate it, players should run in circles and target the glowing spot underneath its belly. It is recommended to use a shotgun for its wider range. Additionally, players should be cautious as U-3's tail will summon Novistadors, which can be neutralized with Flash Grenades.
Search for Luis and Chase Krauser
Use Ada's Grapple Gun to ascend to the top of the cave, where Luis and Leon confront Krauser. This will initiate a cutscene and advance to the Clock Tower section. Find the Path of Penitence and maneuver through its crushing mechanisms to reach the other side.
In the last region, a pack of Zealots will surprise Ada. Nevertheless, this entire skirmish can be bypassed, allowing players to save time by sprinting up the stairs and grappling to the rooftop of the tower.
That’s all. Chapter 5 of Separate Ways concludes when Ada boards the elevator in the Ancient Chantry while pursuing Krauser.
All Treasure Locations in Chapter 5
Players can get 11 treasures in Separate Ways’ fifth chapter. Here’s where to find all.
The Castle Battlements house a Pearl Bangle, marking the beginning of the fifth chapter.
Ada traces Luis' footsteps to the tower, where she discovers the Elegant Crown hidden in a secret opening. This area is characterized by gated doors adorned with symbols.
A Velvet Blue sits on the damaged staircase right before Gregorio’s Waterway, which is the chamber that Ada quickly descends into.
A Ruby dangles from the wall at the entrance of the Waterway, where the initial group of Zealots launch their attack.
A Large Gold Bar is in the control room of the Waterway, where players drain the water. (Requires a small key.)
The Mirror with Pearls & Rubies is in the opening past the control room.
A Yellow Diamond is on the wall under the Merchant spot. (Players must first drain the water to get this one.)
An Alexandrite can be found across the Merchant spot in the dead-end on the right.
A wall with an Emerald lies between the two smashing mechanisms in the Path of Penitence.
Towards the eastern part of the Path of Penitence, behind the smashing mechanism, rests the Depraved Idol. (A dead-end opening is visible on the map.)
The Brass Pocket Watch is hanging from the ceiling near the motorboat.
