BattleBit Remastered offers a unique blend of old-school aesthetics and cutting-edge gameplay, making it a standout choice for both new and experienced players in the first-person shooter genre. With massive field sizes accommodating up to 254 players, an impressive array of weapons, vehicles, and customization options, this game delivers unparalleled variety within its low-polygon graphics. Don't be fooled by its simplistic appearance - BattleBit Remastered is a game that shouldn't be underestimated.
In true classic first-person shooter fashion, BattleBit Remastered allows players to select from six distinct classes, each with their own unique loadouts and perks. Whether you prefer a fast-paced run-and-gun playstyle, providing support to your teammates and keeping vehicles operational, or finding the perfect spot to take out opponents with precision, this game caters to all preferences. It's important to carefully consider the perks, abilities, and restrictions of each class to find the perfect fit for your preferred style of play.
6 Assault
In BattleBit Remastered, the default class is the Assault class, focused on accumulating kills and dealing maximum damage to the opposition. Players with this loadout enjoy speed boosts in weapon swap speed, reload speed, and a significant reduction in aiming down a weapon's scope.
To enhance the "bull in a china shop" approach, the Assault class is equipped with additional tools. These include a sledgehammer for efficiently breaking down obstacles and a grappling hook for accessing vantage points with ease. The class also features a riot shield, which complements the default heavy body armor for enhanced protection.
5 Recon
The Recon class is essential in any reputable shooting game, as it supports long-range warfare with a variety of Designated Marksman Rifles and Sniper Rifles for powerful, one-shot kills. This class is the most formidable in terms of firepower and is the only one capable of consistently eliminating enemy players with just one shot. However, the Recon class has fewer perks compared to other classes.
Despite its lack of heavy gear, the Recon class allows players to carry only 3 bandages and prohibits them from wearing a helmet, leaving them as vulnerable to headshots as the enemies they engage. Nonetheless, they have access to a grappling hook for quick access to strategic vantage points and the ability to unlock an Air Drone to aid in locating their next target.
4 Leader
The Leader class shares many similarities with the Assault class, but with a few distinct differences. The player in the Leader class has some cosmetic variations to distinguish themselves, along with a few extra abilities and gadgets. One notable ability is the Squad Leader's capability to ping targets and direct their unit towards a specific objective, simply by clicking the mouse wheel (on the default setting).
In terms of equipment, the Leader carries an additional bandage and grenade to provide support to their team. However, due to their role as the strategic mastermind of the group, they do not have access to heavier armor options or any other backpacks aside from the standard size. The Leader class also possesses additional skills such as the Air Drone, Bino Soflam, and the ability to set respawn points, ensuring that the team can get back into action more swiftly. For players looking to become a Leader, they can achieve this by leaving their current assigned squad in the respawn menu and forming a new squad.
3 Medic
The Medic class is designed for soldiers who prioritize the well-being of their team. While all classes can revive fallen comrades, the Medic stands out as the only one capable of restoring lost health and restoring the team to full strength. Their arsenal mainly consists of small machine guns and lighter weapons, but they also have the option to equip assault rifles.
One key feature that sets the Medic apart is their secondary gadget, the Medic Kit. They have the ability to drop this kit for their teammates, allowing them to replenish their health. This is the only way for players to receive healing on the battlefield, and the Medic Kit serves as an unlimited source of recovery that can be retrieved by the Medic and used in another location.
2 Support
The Support class in BattleBit Remastered serves as the soldier's ultimate ally, equipped with essential tools to aid the team. These soldiers carry a backpack filled with extra ammunition, possess the ability to construct protective cover, and have access to the game's heaviest armor.
One of the vital roles of the Support class is their capability to construct cover, providing crucial protection against enemy gunfire for the entire squad. Furthermore, they come equipped with three heavy ammunition kits, ensuring that both the player and their teammates can replenish their supplies of bullets, gadgets, and throwable weapons.
What sets the Support class apart is their exclusive Exo armor, known for its weightiness. While this armor may decrease the player's speed, it offers unparalleled fortification against enemy attacks.
1 Engineer
The Engineer class is ideal for those who prefer repairing and dismantling machines over healing humans. With a complete set of tools, this class is particularly useful for those who find themselves dealing with tanks, helicopters, or transports on the battlefield. Engineers are the only ones who can carry a repair tool, allowing them to restore damaged vehicles and bring them back to their original lethal state.
However, Engineers are also skilled at eliminating threats posed by vehicles. Armed with RPGs and anti-vehicle grenades, players in this class can effectively take down hostile aircraft and ground combat vehicles. Additionally, what sets the Engineer class apart in BattleBit Remastered is the extensive range of weapons and armor options available. With the exception of sniper rifles and heavy machine guns, Engineers can wield almost any type of gun, making them versatile for various playing styles.
BattleBit Remastered is now available on PC via Steam.
