Twitch CEO expressed agreement on unbanning IShowSpeed, raising hopes among his fans for his return to the platform.

The permanent ban of IShowSpeed and the controversial incident during the E-Date show are expected to ignite intense discussions among the streaming community. As a response to Twitch's ban on suspended streamers, Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed collaborated on a show together on Rumble.

Renowned streamer Kai Cenat recently disclosed an important revelation regarding the Twitch CEO's stance on lifting the ban imposed on IShowSpeed. This news has given hope to IShowSpeed's dedicated fans, who eagerly anticipate his return to the prominent streaming platform Twitch. However, it is worth noting that IShowSpeed's comeback may ignite a heated debate within the streaming community, considering the reasons behind his permanent ban.

To provide some background, IShowSpeed was permanently banned from Twitch in late 2021 following a controversial incident during a show called E-Date. During this event, IShowSpeed participated alongside Instagram model Ash Kash, under the hostship of the popular streamer Adin Ross. In a virtual date setup, IShowSpeed asked Kash a hypothetical question about a post-apocalyptic scenario where they were the only two remaining individuals on Earth. He inquired whether she would be willing to engage in reproduction with him to ensure the continuation of the human race. When she declined, IShowSpeed responded in a troubling manner, stating, "If we're the last two people on Earth, who would be able to stop me?"

During a livestream on July 31, popular YouTuber IShowSpeed's friend, Kai Cenat, who set multiple records on Twitch earlier this year, revealed that he had spoken with Twitch CEO Dan Clancy. In their conversation, Kai strongly advocated for the immediate lifting of IShowSpeed's ban, a request to which Clancy readily agreed. Kai also urged the CEO to take action, simply stating, "So, CEO, do what you've got to do."

In addition to the request for IShowSpeed's reinstatement, Kai briefly mentioned that he had made other appeals, without going into specifics. It is worth noting that a few months prior, both Cenat and IShowSpeed had launched a collaborative show on the Rumble platform. This decision was widely seen as a response to Twitch's policy of not allowing banned streamers, leading them to explore alternative platforms for their joint content.

The potential unbanning of IShowSpeed from Twitch is surrounded by uncertainty, but it would undoubtedly ignite intense debates within the community. Twitch has faced criticism in the past for its alleged double standards in policy enforcement. In March 2023, popular Twitch streamer xQc criticized the platform for what he perceived as inconsistent enforcement of policies. He highlighted the case of Brazilian soccer star Neymar Jr, who was allowed to stream gambling content on Twitch despite the recent ban on such activities.
