Troye Sivan's Debut Acting Role: Taking On the Iconic X-Men Character - Wolverine

Troye Sivan made his acting debut in the polarizing X-Men Origins: Wolverine, portraying a youthful rendition of the beloved character, showcasing his talent beyond the realm of music

Pop star Troye Sivan, originally from Australia, is renowned for his melodious singing talents and his past as a YouTuber, during which he documented his daily experiences and uploaded covers of popular songs. Additionally, he briefly ventured into acting during his childhood, notably appearing as a young rendition of Wolverine in the film X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Sivan has not only made a name for himself as a singer, but he has also explored the realm of acting. Recently, he took on a supporting role in the HBO Max series The Idol. However, his acting career actually kicked off with a role in a critically panned X-Men film.

Sivan got his start as the younger version of an iconic character

The singer recently appeared on Andy Cohen’s TV show Watch What Happens Live where he was promoting his new album Something to Give Each Other.

During a conversation about his previous experiences, including his brief foray into acting, Sivan disclosed that his initial venture into the world of film was in the prequel X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

In the movie, Sivan portrayed James Howlett, also known as a young Wolverine, who tragically witnesses his father's murder at the film's outset. This traumatic event serves as a catalyst for his transformation, resulting in the emergence of his bone claws.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is considered as one of the worst movies in the franchise as it was heavily criticized for its script, visual effects, pacing, and editing.

Sivan shifted his focus towards his music career after making his appearance in X-Men. In 2014, he released his debut EP titled "TRXYE", consisting of five songs.

In addition to his roles in X-Men and The Idol, Sivan showcased his acting skills in the South African comedy-drama trilogy Spud and the collaborative project Trolls Band Together.
