Cohen emphasized the catchiness of the song and discussed with his close friend Anderson Cooper about the groundbreaking and NSFW nature of the music video, which showcases Sivan at a wild house party. Cohen's main concern is Sivan's safety as he indulges in the festivities.

Cohen expressed excitement, stating, "If this video had been released during our youth, it would have had a significant impact on us." Cohen further expressed happiness for the audience, acknowledging the game-changing influence of Lil Nas X and emphasizing the exceptional representation.

Moreover, Cohen discussed the inspiration behind "Rush," revealing that it was influenced by poppers, which refers to amyl nitrite, an inhalant known for inducing a euphoric sensation.

Cohen cautioned Sivan about the dangers of poppers, to which Sivan playfully rolled his eyes. "We should be cautious and use them sparingly," Cohen advised. The pair had already talked about poppers earlier this week during Sivan's appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on Wednesday, October 11, where Reba McEntire was also present. When a fan inquired about whether it was true that Sivan had used poppers before his photo shoot for "Rush," Sivan validated it.
