Travis Kelce didn't plan to intentionally pursue a relationship with Taylor Swift, but he doesn't have any negative feelings about the attention it received. During an episode of the "Chasin' It With Chase Daniels & Trey Wingo" podcast on October 3, the 33-year-old Kelce expressed his surprise at the frenzy caused by their rumored romance, stating that nobody could have predicted it. However, he also expressed that he isn't upset with how everything has unfolded.
Even the hosts, Daniels and Wingo, who previously expressed indifference towards Kelce's relationship status on the show, fully agreed. They jokingly stated, "If you're upset, then you're an idiot."
Kelce initially reached out to Swift in July through his podcast "New Heights," which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce. While discussing his experience at Swift's Kansas City Eras Tour, Kelce admitted his attempt to present her with a homemade friendship bracelet containing his contact number, but unfortunately, it didn't succeed.
"She refused to meet anyone, or at least she deliberately avoided meeting me, which made me take it personally," he expressed at that moment. "Nevertheless, it was an exceptional spectacle. Kansas City made a remarkable display... everyone was garbed in pink and purple, displaying their extreme enthusiasm for her."
During the month of September, rumors circulated about the two of them spending time together after Kelce extended an invitation to Swift to witness his electrifying performance at Arrowhead Stadium. Just three days later, Swift caused a sensation online when she made an appearance at his game against the Chicago Bears. The singer was seen passionately supporting Travis from his exclusive suite, accompanied by his friends and family, including his mother Donna Kelce. Afterwards, she joined him and his teammates for an intimate celebration to commemorate their victory.
Kelce's jersey sales skyrocketed by almost 400 percent following her appearance at Arrowhead Stadium. A week later, 27 million viewers tuned in to watch Swift cheer for Kelce once again as the Chiefs faced the Jets, making it the most-watched Sunday program since the Super Bowl in February.
Swift has also reaped the benefits of the attention. Her upcoming concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, is expected to garner $100 million in its opening weekend. Her songs, along with her Capital One commercials and movie promos, have also been prominently featured during Sunday Night Football.
Travis has kept a relatively low profile regarding his relationship with Swift. However, during a September episode of "New Heights," the NFL star shared his thoughts about her attending his game against the Bears. He commended her for the bold move and found it amusing to witness the reactions of both players and fans. Travis expressed his appreciation for the positive remarks about Swift from everyone in the suite, including friends and family. He also praised her appearance and highlighted that it was a flawless day for Chiefs fans. Teasingly, he hinted at orchestrating the entire experience, describing it as absolutely exhilarating.
Swift has not publicly discussed Travis yet. However, the Grammy winner intends to attend as many of Travis' games as she can while preparing for her Eras Tour. A reliable source revealed that the two are communicating daily and enjoying getting to know each other.
Doing things on her own terms is significant to Swift. A second source stated that following her heart is natural for her, and she doesn't consider the consequences or public perception of supporting Travis. She is simply doing what she wants to do, and it is refreshing for everyone involved.
