Travis Kelce appears to have discovered his fortunate charm in Taylor Swift.
According to a CBS graphic presented during the Sunday, October 22 game against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Kansas City Chief tight end, aged 34, has amassed more than double the receiving yards when Swift was present, compared to when he was on his own. When Swift graced the bleachers, Kelce achieved an impressive average of 99 yards per game, whereas he only managed 46.5 yards when he was not accompanied by her presence. This observation subtly alludes to her song "Anti-Hero."
Swift has been present at four NFL games this season with Kelce. The first game she attended was at Arrowhead Stadium when the Chiefs faced the Chicago Bears in September, where she publicly established her connection with Kelce.
With Swift in attendance, the Chiefs have emerged victorious on every occasion, triumphing over the Bears with a score of 41-10, defeating the New York Jets 23-20, besting the Denver Broncos 19-8, and emerging triumphant against the Chargers with a score of 31-17.
Ever since her first appearance in the NFL, Swift has become a central figure in its media coverage. Following the hype and excitement surrounding her performances, the Thursday Night Football production team took the initiative to convene a meeting beforehand, specifically to strategize for the Broncos game.
"Our crew held a discussion this morning," noted sports broadcaster Al Michaels, known for his work with Prime Video and NBC Sports for Thursday Night Football, stated before the game earlier this month. "We must ensure that the main focus remains on the football game rather than turning it into a spectacle. The majority of the audience tunes in to watch the game itself. While there may be a substantial number of people who would enjoy continuous coverage of her, they do not represent the majority. That's not our intention." Michaels, aged 78, mentioned that the network intended to strike a balance in showcasing Swift during the game, emphasizing moderation in their approach.
"There could be a suitable number of shots, but I cannot determine that at the moment," he stated to the outlet. "If Kelce ends up scoring six touchdowns, it's hard to predict what we will do. However, we aim to maintain moderation. Above all, the game remains the primary focus. That is our perspective. Beyond that, it becomes somewhat 'farcical,' to use one of my favorite words."
The decision to feature Swift in these games has garnered the interest of celebrities, including Kelly Clarkson, who likened the coverage to watching The Real Housewives.
"The way it is completely dominating the NFL for sports enthusiasts is quite astonishing," remarked Clarkson, 41, on an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show that aired on October 20th.
Since their relationship became public, the couple has been seen dining out together twice in New York City and even made unexpected appearances on Saturday Night Live this month.
According to a source, Swift is expressing genuine happiness and excitement regarding her new relationship with Kelce. Though they have not explicitly declared their love for each other, her friends believe that they are gradually gravitating towards that emotional milestone. The source mentioned that Swift is currently experiencing the phase in a relationship where she eagerly anticipates meeting, receiving calls, and spending quality time with her partner. Additionally, she admits to feeling butterflies in her stomach, a sensation she has not experienced in quite some time. Ultimately, Swift feels a sense of security and emotional comfort when she is around Kelce.
