Travis Kelce is defending his actions after appearing to nudge Taylor Swift's security guard in a now-viral video. During a recent episode of the "New Heights" podcast, Travis, age 34, was questioned by his older brother Jason Kelce about his eventful weekend in New York City. Jason asked if he faced any resistance from Swift's security team for allegedly pushing them aside. Travis then clarified the actual circumstances of the incident.
"I did not exert any force on him," he claimed. "I simply placed my hand on the man's back to notify him of my presence. Had I actually pushed him, he likely would have retaliated by turning around and potentially using a taser on me."
Playing the role of devil's advocate, Jason, aged 35, bantered, "That appears to be how one would describe pushing someone if they were indeed the one who pushed them."
The conversation began when the siblings shared a TikTok video on their podcast. The video featured a social media user impersonating Travis, receiving a briefing from Swift's security team. In the clip, the imitated Travis responded with catchphrases like "New news!" and "Alright now."
Travis acknowledged the well-executed parody and proceeded to explain his thoughts during their outings in NYC. He and Swift went on two consecutive dates over the weekend. In footage from October 14th, Travis was seen assisting Swift out of the car and seemingly instructing her security staff to move aside.
“Excuse me, sir. I need to attend to the door,” he kindly expressed on Wednesday, commending the pop star’s remarkable team. “I will be right behind you. I don't wish to startle you as I understand it is your responsibility to protect against any unexpected encounters. Being unexpectedly pushed while guarding a door could potentially be quite alarming.”

When Jason inquired if his younger brother felt like a security guard while accompanying Swift in public, Travis replied that his protective behavior is his usual approach, regardless of whether he is with a global celebrity.
"I have this constant feeling whenever I go on a date that I'm always perceiving myself as the one taking charge, being protective. It's like I always have this self-awareness," he explained.
Travis initially expressed his interest in Swift during one of his podcast episodes in July, after attending her spectacular performance in Kansas City as part of her record-breaking Eras Tour. Later, he extended an invitation for her to witness him "rock the stage" with the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium - and she gladly accepted. Swift was seen in a VIP suite on September 24 and has attended several games ever since.
According to an exclusive source, Taylor is increasingly falling for Travis, who is unlike anyone she has dated before. Travis goes above and beyond to ensure Taylor feels cherished, providing her with a sense of safety and protection, while also encouraging her independence and accomplishments.
