Travis Barker has been married to Kourtney Kardashian since 2022, but she was not the first family member he became close to. Over a decade ago, Barker formed a bond with her sister Kim Kardashian while he was dating Paris Hilton. (Kim worked as Hilton’s assistant at the time.)
In his 2015 memoir, "Can I Say: Living Large, Cheating Death, and Drums, Drums, Drums," Barker acknowledged that she believed her family was interesting and saw the potential for a reality show. Barker also mentioned that she met with Ryan Seacrest and was seeking advice about what it would be like to have a show. Barker, who had previous experience filming a reality show with his ex-wife in 2005, warned her about the lack of privacy and personal nature of the show.
While Barker and Kim shared a flirty dynamic, their relationship never turned physical - at least according to Moakler. (Barker and Moakler were married from 2004 to 2008 and have a son named Landon and a daughter named Alabama.)

Barker and Kourtney developed a close bond as a result of their kids' friendships and proximity of their homes. In 2020, their connection turned romantic and they were married in May 2022. Their first child together, son Rocky Thirteen, was born in November 2023.

How Travis Barker Described Kim Kardashian Relationship Before Kourtney Marriage
Travis Barker has been married to Kourtney Kardashian since 2022, but his connection to the Kardashian family actually started more than a decade ago when he dated Paris Hilton and bonded with her sister Kim Kardashian, who was working as Hilton's assistant at the time.
In his 2015 memoir, Can I Say: Living Large, Cheating Death, and Drums, Drums, Drums, Barker revealed that she was interested in doing a reality show because she believed her family was intriguing, and it turned out she was right. Barker admired her ambition and even gave her advice before Keeping Up With the Kardashians premiered in 2007. He warned her about the lack of privacy and the intensely personal nature of reality TV.
Barker and Kim had a flirtatious relationship, but nothing physical ever occurred. However, when asked, Moakler might say differently. (Barker and Moakler were married from 2004 to 2008 and have a son, Landon, and a daughter, Alabama.)

She's Hot
In his book, the "Can a Drummer Get Some" artist described a trip to Amsterdam with the Simple Life star and Kim, whom he referred to as "Paris' closet girl."
"We all checked into our hotel and then rented bicycles to explore Amsterdam — that's what you do there. It was me, Lil Chris, my drum technician Daniel, Paris, and Kim. We all got very high at a coffee shop. Then we rode over to the Absinthe Bar and then to the red-light district. ... I was having a fantastic time and was not shy about showing it. I kept on discreetly checking out Kim, telling Lil Chris, 'I don't care if she's the closet girl, she's incredibly attractive.'"
In 2015, the musician spoke exclusively to Us about the attraction. "How could you not stare at Kim? Mind you, I enjoyed hanging out with Paris, but I love curvy girls," he said at the time. “Kim was eye candy. I was in no way disrespectful to Paris, but I couldn’t keep my eyes off Kim."

Staying in Touch
After breaking up with Hilton and briefly reuniting and splitting again from Moakler, a member of The Transplants revealed that he began talking to the Skims founder shortly after her sex tape with Ray J was released in 2007. "We had stayed in touch after Amsterdam, and she did some modeling for Famous. I hired Estevan Oriol to shoot a whole ad campaign of her in bathing suits. Kim's tape had come out and she had broken up with Ray J," he wrote in his book. "We went to dinner, we went to lunch. You might think I would be doing the worst things with this girl because of her tapes, but it was the exact opposite of any other encounter I've had with a woman: with Kim, I wanted to be nothing but a gentleman to her. It was so weird. We were around each other a lot. We used her in ad campaigns for Famous. She came to my house and went swimming. We watched the Fourth of July fireworks together. I'd go visit her and her family at their clothing store. We'd be really sweet around each other, like little kids, and then when we were apart, she'd call me and say, 'I want to see you again.' 'Me too,' I'd say."

A Reunion With Shanna
Barker revealed that he reunited with his ex-wife one more time but "really wanted to see Kim." This ultimately led to a run-in.
"Upon learning about the situation, Shanna took action and poured a drink on Kim at a party hosted by Carmen Electra. In his book, he expressed remorse, stating, "I felt terrible. Kim and I never touched each other. It just wasn't meant to be."

No Awkwardness
"I used to have a crush on her and we would flirt, but nothing ever came of it. She was always so kind and polite, so I just naturally felt like being a perfect gentleman around her. It was quite an experience," he shared with Us in 2015. "Now when I see her, I give her a hug and wish her the best, and there's no awkwardness. Because let's face it, when you hook up, things can get pretty awkward!"

It’s ‘Ridiculous’
In October 2023, he told the Los Angeles Times that Kourtney knows we used to talk and that nothing bad was happening. He also mentioned that people often assume they know why there is a conflict when given a little information, which he finds ridiculous.
The feud between Kim and Kourtney played out in episodes of The Kardashians, with Kourtney alleging that her sister's Dolce & Gabbana collection was a copy of her Italian wedding to Barker. It is noted that D&G dressed the wedding party, and the designers hosted the ceremony at their villa.
Three months later, Moakler reinforced her claims that Barker and Kim had intentions of pursuing a romantic relationship. She stated on the "Dumb Blonde" podcast that they had arranged to meet at Kim's sister's house for intimate reasons, citing texts found on her former husband's phone as evidence. Moakler reportedly contacted Kim, who denied the allegations by saying, "I don’t like white guys."
Moakler added, “Travis and I never really recovered from that. I felt stupid.”
