Transfer Deadline Looms: Bayern Munich Desperate to Sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur - Will They Succeed?

Bayern Munich's €100m bid for Harry Kane rejected; deadline approaches for a deal Kane seeks clarity on his future ahead of Tottenham's season opener Watch Brentford vs Spurs on Super Sunday live on Sky Sports

Bayern Munich will make another attempt to secure the services of Harry Kane, despite having their latest offer of over €100m (£86m) turned down, the German champions are determined not to give up on signing the 30-year-old.

According to Sky Germany, Bayern's hierarchy still considers acquiring Kane as their highest priority. However, currently, there is no visible agreement between the clubs, indicating that it is increasingly probable for Kane to remain at Spurs.

The striker desires a resolution for his future before the week concludes, in anticipation of Tottenham's first match of the season against Brentford on Sunday. Kane is currently content with his situation under the new Tottenham head coach, Ange Postecoglou.

He is one of the players who played against Shakhtar Donetsk on Sunday but did not travel to Barcelona for their last friendly on Tuesday night.

Spurs face the risk of keeping Kane beyond the current transfer window with his contract expiring next summer, potentially losing a top-level goal scorer to a Premier League rival for free.

In a disappointing season for Spurs, Kane managed to score 30 goals in the Premier League. However, the team finished in eighth place and missed out on European football. Additionally, Spurs have not won a trophy since 2008. Kane's overall record for the club is impressive, with 280 goals in 435 appearances. He scored his first goal for Spurs in December 2011. In the Premier League, he has scored 213 goals in 320 games and is currently 48 goals away from breaking Alan Shearer's record as the highest scorer in Premier League history.

Postecoglou unfazed by 'tough' new beginnings

Spurs manager Postecoglou sat down to speak with We' Peter Smith on Monday, where Kane's future was put to the Australian...

How much has the Harry Kane situation been a distraction? We saw him score four goals [on Sunday], showing that he's still focused and performing. However, when you're trying to build a cohesive unit to play in complex tactical systems, it's difficult when you're uncertain if an important player will be available in a few weeks.

To be honest, it's similar to my experiences at other clubs. Beginnings are always challenging, and at Celtic, for example, we faced difficulties in the first six games due to ongoing player acquisitions until the last day of the transfer window. I didn't even have a core team, let alone missing a crucial player. The same situation occurred in Japan.

The beginnings are consistently like this for me. It seems normal whenever I start a new job, knowing that they desire change, and with change comes challenges. Harry's involvement in this situation is particularly significant. Ultimately, I have developed the ability to handle these challenges by maintaining discipline and not becoming fixated on just one aspect. I avoid getting distracted by what I believe to be the most vital element.

Building a team is presently our top priority. It's not just about a few individuals. If we were in the second or third year of the project, with the team performing as I envisioned and possessing a solid foundation, and Harry being the only concern, I would devote more time and it would potentially divert more of the necessary energy. However, at this moment, while Harry holds significance for this group, my focus lies primarily on what I achieve with the team.

I wanted to inquire about your definition of success for this season, but I suppose one aspect would be successfully implementing your style and getting the team to play according to your vision. However, does Harry's situation influence your pursuit of a specific points total or position?

No, I don't approach it in that manner. Setting goals or targets has never been my practice because doing so may have hindered the success I've attained. In fact, a significant portion of my achievements has been surprisingly unexpected, even to me.

By refraining from setting specific targets and goals, it becomes easier to achieve the desired outcome, as there is less pressure. I personally do not believe in this approach. It is crucial for us to strive to be the best team we can possibly be. From my experience, I have come to the realization that if success does not come in the first year, it often does in the second.

However, the support we receive from our fans is a reliable indicator of our progress. Their observations and emotions give us valuable insight. If we reach the end of this year and our supporters are satisfied with our season, then I believe we will have accomplished our objectives. Yet, it is difficult to determine what exactly that will entail in terms of tangible results such as points, trophies, or other accolades.

According to our News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol, our objective should be to reach the conclusion of the season, where the fans, the most significant individuals at the football club, perceive that their team has made advancements and provided them with a sense of hope for the future.

Tottenham's refusal to dance to Bayern's tune is intriguing. Germany saw numerous reports on Friday stating that Bayern Munich required an answer by midnight, or else they would withdraw.

Solhekol: Spurs won't dance to Bayern's tune

Spurs have been patient in their approach and have made it clear that they will not adhere to any arbitrary deadlines set by Bayern Munich. Their rejection of the offer has been communicated, indicating that they are not in a rush to make any decisions.
