Tom Sandoval expressed deep remorse for the viral incident in which JoJo Siwa lifted him over her shoulder on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.
"I felt awful because it made everyone afraid of failing challenges," Sandoval, 41, told We exclusively. "JoJo really stepped up and, of course, she's amazing and did a great job carrying me."
Sandoval and competitor Bode Miller emerged victorious in the challenge, resulting in a punishment for the other Special Forces stars. Viall initially attempted to carry Sandoval back to base, but when he couldn't finish, Siwa took over. Despite the moment with Siwa going viral, the Vanderpump Rules star expressed gratitude to former Bachelor Nick Viall for "carrying [him] most of the way" with a big "shout-out."
“He was hurting” at one point, Sandoval told Us of Viall, which is why Siwa took over. “I felt really bad for him.”
Tom Sandoval, known for his appearance on the Bravo reality show, showcased his physical and mental abilities on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. The show features ex-special forces operatives leading a group of celebrities in challenging training exercises that simulate real-life grueling tasks from the special forces selection process.
Sandoval's appearance on Special Forces came several months after Us confirmed his infidelity with fellow Pump Rules star Raquel Leviss, causing scandal during season 10 of the show. The finale aired in June. When Sandoval traveled to New Zealand to film Special Forces, he claimed that his controversial past was not on anyone's mind, a welcome relief for the reality star.

Sandoval confessed to Us that it was a relief to only have to focus on the tasks for the day. "While we were in the barracks, we were completely unaware of what was happening until it was over. We believed that the staff was monitoring us and possibly waiting for us to let our guard down or change. ... It wasn't until later that we learned they weren't observing us, but we were always on high alert."

Sandoval mentioned that he was too busy to be concerned about other issues, such as the consequences of his cheating scandal. The intense nature of the competition helped to alleviate some of the stress he was feeling. However, the upcoming Pump Rules season 11 premiere in January is still on his mind.
