Tom Sandoval Sets the Record Straight on Ariana Madix T-Shirt Controversy

Tom Sandoval of Vanderpump Rules received backlash for his comments about ex-girlfriend Ariana Madix's choice to keep her t-shirt on during sex He has since clarified that his comments had nothing to do with her body

"I believe my comment was taken out of context," said Tom Sandoval, addressing the controversy surrounding his remarks about ex-girlfriend Ariana Madix keeping a t-shirt on during sex. He clarified that he has never body-shamed Madix."

He explained that the reason behind his lack of interest in Ariana had nothing to do with her physical appearance, but rather her lack of enthusiasm. He used the analogy of someone wanting to have sex with him and him feeling unenthused, comparing it to him unzipping his zipper and saying he has to hurry up for lunch. For Sandoval, it was more about the lack of passion. The comment was made during part 3 of the Vanderpump Rules season 10 reunion, which aired earlier this month. When Ariana mentioned having sex with Sandoval during his affair with Raquel Leviss, Sandoval sarcastically responded by saying that she kept her T-shirt on and that it was really hot.

The mention of his past relationship with Ariana and their sex life received heavy backlash from both fans of the Bravo series and Sandoval's costars. James Kennedy and Ariana expressed their disgust towards the comment, while Andy Cohen visibly cringed. Tom Schwartz also chimed in, urging Sandoval not to make such statements. Lala Kent, who appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen right after the reunion, shared that the whole ordeal made her feel nauseous, especially the t-shirt comment.

During an episode of his Andy Cohen Live radio show, Cohen, 55, commented on the controversial statement, acknowledging that many people struggle with body image issues. He also pointed out that Ariana herself has been open about her own struggles with body confidence in past seasons of Vanderpump Rules, making the comment all the more uncomfortable. Despite the hurtful remark, Ariana has not let it get her down and instead promoted a t-shirt on Instagram with a bold message. The shirt, which reads "F—k Me in This T-Shirt," is being sold through her and Katie Maloney's upcoming sandwich shop, Something About Her, for $34.99.

Sandoval also shared his thoughts on Schwartz's disclosure about the impact of the affair on his life, in addition to commenting on the T-shirt situation, during an interview with TMZ.

Schwartz revealed that his business partner, Sandoval, had a tumultuous affair which he feels guilty about not covering up. However, he clarified that he did not have an affair and that the situation was solely Sandoval's. Despite this, Schwartz finds it odd that he's constantly being dragged into the ordeal. While some assumed that Schwartz wanted to distance himself from Sandoval, the latter clarified that Schwartz was not cutting ties with him but simply did not want to talk about their relationship publicly.

Sandoval, along with the Most Extras musician, stated that he is unsure about the duration of Leviss' stay at the mental health treatment facility that she entered herself in April. He also declined to comment on her situation and preferred to let her share her story when she feels comfortable doing so.
