Summary
Actor Tom Hiddleston previously suggested that Jaimie Alexander, who played Lady Sif in the Thor films, could have portrayed Lady Loki in the MCU.
Lady Sif, although a vital character in Thor's journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), was frequently marginalized and lacked adequate focus in the live-action franchise.
Jaimie Alexander probably did not portray Lady Loki to avoid confusing audiences, and it was more logical to select a fresh face for the role of Sylvie, the female variant of Loki.
In Phase 4's Loki, a female version of Tom Hiddleston's God of Mischief was introduced. Interestingly, Tom Hiddleston had previously speculated that someone else would take on the role, and this idea could have addressed a challenge with a brilliant supporting character in the MCU. Tom Hiddleston has become one of the MCU's most enduring actors, having appeared in nine Marvel Studios projects over a span of twelve years. He first appeared as Loki in 2011's Thor and will be returning for Loki season 2 in Phase 5. Loki's character has seen significant development in the MCU, ultimately leading him to encounter various multiversal variants of himself in Phase 4, including a female version inspired by Marvel Comics' Lady Loki.
In 2004, Loki was killed in battle with Thor during Marvel Comics' Ragnarök event. However, Loki made a comeback in 2008, taking on a new female form. Instead of simply returning to life, Loki transformed into Lady Sif, who is a close ally of Thor and his long-time love interest. Despite assuming Lady Sif's appearance, Loki retained all of his own personality, skills, and wicked intentions. He even sought the assistance of villains such as Doctor Doom and Hela. This storyline from the Marvel Comics influenced Tom Hiddleston's suggestion for who could portray Lady Loki in the MCU. In an interview with Screen Rant, he expressed that Jaimie Alexander, the actor who portrayed Lady Sif, was a potential candidate for the role.
Oh, that's a good question. We know that in the comics he comes back in the body of Sif. So I say the first obvious port of call is Jaimie Alexander.

Jaimie Alexander Playing Lady Loki Would've Fixed The MCU's Lady Sif Problem
Jaimie Alexander debuted as Lady Sif in Thor, appearing alongside Thor and the Warriors Three. She reprised her role in Thor: The Dark World and also made guest appearances in Marvel Television's Agents of SHIELD. However, Sif's character has often been overlooked and overshadowed by Thor and Loki in the live-action franchise. This trend continued in Thor: Love and Thunder, where Sif returned after a break but was sidelined and ignored for the majority of the film.
Considering that Lady Sif was temporarily inhabited by Loki in the Marvel Comics, there was potential for Jaimie Alexander to play Lady Loki in the MCU. This would have allowed her to develop Sif's character while also giving her the opportunity to portray Loki. It would have given Alexander a prominent role in the MCU and brought more attention to Sif and her connection to Thor. However, it ultimately made more sense for someone else to be cast in this unique role, given the current state of the MCU.
Why Jaimie Alexander Didn't Play Lady Loki
Jaimie Alexander's appearance as Lady Loki in the MCU may have caused confusion among audiences unfamiliar with the Marvel Comics storyline. This is because Lady Sif had a significant role in the first two Thor projects. When Lady Loki was introduced in the MCU, it made sense for Marvel Studios to cast a new actress, allowing her identity to be kept secret for as long as possible. Sophia Di Martino eventually debuted as Sylvie, the female Loki variant, in Phase 4's Loki on Disney+. She gained a strong fan following and is set to return in Loki season 2 alongside Tom Hiddleston.
