Tom Brady confessed that participating in a Netflix roast wasn't his finest moment as a parent. He shared his thoughts during a recent interview on the "Pivot Podcast." Brady, who is 46 years old, mentioned that while he enjoyed the jokes directed at him, he was not pleased with how they impacted his children.

He continued by saying that the hardest part is the bittersweet aspect of realizing the impact of your actions on the people you care about the most in the world.

Brady shares his children Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11, with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen, and son Jack, 16, with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan. The relationships with both Bündchen and Moynahan were joked about during The Roast of Tom Brady, which aired live on May 5.

"Wow, Tom, can you believe it? People are saying Jesus Christ, you're one of the smartest quarterbacks to ever play the game. How did you not see this coming?" Kevin Hart joked, teasing about Gisele Bündchen's dedication to karate classes with Joaquim Valente. "She's doing eight karate classes a day and she's still a white belt. Man, Tom, everyone should have seen it coming."

On the other hand, Nikki Glaser couldn't resist poking fun at Brady's 2006 split from then-pregnant Bridget Moynahan.

Glaser, 39, jokingly praised Tom for his back-and-forth retirement decisions, comparing it to not being able to walk away from a pregnant girlfriend. He added that Tom didn't realize she was pregnant, thinking she was just gaining weight.

Brady mentioned on Tuesday that he believes the roast was a valuable learning experience for him as a parent.

“I’m going to be a better parent as I go forward because of it. At the same time, I’m happy everyone who was there had a lot of fun,” he said.

The athlete also explained what made him want to do the roast in the first place.

Brady shared that he enjoys it when people poke fun at him. During the Deflategate controversy, he mentioned that he would watch Premier League soccer, golf, and comedy shows on TV. He recalled feeling amused by the jokes and comments made about him on SportsCenter, despite the suspension he faced during the 2016 NFL season for allegedly tampering with footballs.

Not only Brady, but his kids also felt the impact of the comedy special. His ex-wife, Bündchen, who was married to him from 2009 to 2022, was reportedly offended and upset by the remarks made during the roast. A source revealed exclusively to We earlier this week about her reaction to the situation.

The insider mentioned that the model understood that being roasted comes with the territory, but she was surprised by the number of remarks made about her and her new relationship with Valente, whom she started dating in the summer of 2023.

Brady did apologize to Gisele by reaching out to her, as confirmed by the source.

Another source revealed to Us that neither Tom nor any of the participants were aware of what would be said about them beforehand, just like in any roast.

The insider added, "During the roast, they focused on public aspects of your life, but they always respected boundaries by not discussing their kids. It was all in good fun."
