The timeline in Tokyo Revengers is far from straightforward or linear. With time travel being a key element, it's natural for the timelines to become chaotic and disorganized. Fortunately for fans of Tokyo Revengers, the series is conveniently divided into eight distinct arcs, with the final arc being further divided into two sub-arcs.

While the Tokyo Manji Gang, also known as "Toman," is the central gang followed throughout the series, protagonist Takemichi crosses paths with several other gangs, all of which play a role in Hina's tragic future. Each new gang is featured in its own arc, allowing the cast of characters to have their own moments in the spotlight. Here, we rank the best arcs of the Tokyo Revengers series.

Mikey's family and past trauma are explored for the first time in the Tenjiku arc. It is then that Mikey meets Tenjiku's leader, Izana, who claims to be his half-brother.

After a lifetime of feeling abandoned, Izana's world is transformed when Mikey's older brother, Shinichiro, pays him a long-awaited visit following the childhood separation of Izana and Emma. Shinichiro's involvement and profound impact begin to unravel, revealing that he played a vital role in Mikey's past rather than being just a peripheral character.

The backstories of Inupi and Koko also come to light as they are forced to part ways for the first time in years due to the interference of Mucho and Sanzu. The arc concludes with a violent and tragic showdown between Toman and Tenjiku, resulting in Izana's untimely death and forever altering the lives of everyone involved.

Final Chapter:

The Kanto Manji arc occurs immediately following the intense Battle of The Three Deities in the previous chapters. Takemichi finds himself in an increasingly dire situation as all of his plans have failed, leaving Mikey in a state of deep despair and suffering.

Toman has disappeared and Brahman has been defeated. Mikey now leads the Kanto Manji Gang, which incorporates the remaining members of Rokuhara Tandai after their encounter. In this arc, Takemichi decides to take matters into his own hands and begins his own gang to compete against Mikey's.

This arc unveils a significant plot twist in the series wherein Mikey possesses the power to travel through time alongside Takemichi. It is the culmination of Takemichi's desperation and Mikey's shattered spirit reaching their lowest point that ultimately sparks this unforeseen event, ultimately concluding the entire series.

1. Bonten Arc

First Chapter:

Final Chapter:

If Takemichi had not pushed himself further, the series could have concluded at this point. The Bonten arc starts with Emma's funeral and the breakup of Toman. Despite most of Takemichi's friends being safe in the present, Mikey remains involved in criminal activities. Since Naoto is satisfied with the current timeline, where Hina is saved, Takemichi is unable to travel back in time. As a result, he is once again left feeling helpless.

The Bonten arc exposes the entirety of Mikey's curse of "dark impulsivity"; the brutal side of Mikey that emerged from Shinichiro's past transgressions. This "dark impulse" was bestowed upon Mikey following Shinichiro's act of murder, which granted him the power to time travel in order to rescue Mikey from a vegetative state. The Bonten arc unveils the core of the series and highlights the horrifying extent to which Mikey's "dark impulse" would have inevitably grown had Takemichi not intervened.
