T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach discussed the aftermath of their affair in the first episode of their new podcast, "Amy & T.J." The former GMA3 coanchors reflected on the cheating scandal during the December 5th episode and recalled working with a "crisis management team" when news of their relationship outside of the office broke in late 2022. "We reached a point... where you were in a pretty dark spot," Robach, 50, told Holmes, 46. "A pretty dark space."
Holmes acknowledged that he was unaware of the situation escalating and that his messages to Robach were in the past tense. He admitted that he was unsure of his state of mind at the time. When Holmes mentioned that Robach had to conduct a wellness check on him, she responded, "That's a very understated way of putting it."
After the scandal broke, Robach received a text from Holmes apologizing for the incident and referring to her as the love of his life. However, his use of the past tense raised concerns for Robach. Despite reaching out to him via text and phone with no response, he did not answer any form of communication.

Robach was filled with panic and looked to her visiting parents in NYC for help. She was hysterical upon arriving at Holmes' apartment building, remembering the dreadful experience of finding him unresponsive on his bed.
Holmes revealed that once he finished work that morning, he started drinking vodka right away and continued for hours. He also admitted to consuming numerous weed edibles, which Robach described as a "scary" mix. In another part of the podcast, Robach shared her own battles with mental health.
As a survivor of breast cancer, I recently marked 10 years since my diagnosis. I used to believe that 2013 was the most difficult year of my life, but 2022 proved to be even worse. There were moments when I felt like I didn't want to live anymore, something I had never experienced before. It was a struggle to face each day and I didn't want to know what new challenges lay ahead.
The rumors about Robach and Holmes' relationship started in November 2022, when photos of them looking affectionate outside of the office were published. At that time, both Robach and Holmes were still married to their respective spouses. During the podcast, they claimed that they were in the process of divorcing their spouses before they publicly acknowledged their relationship.
ABC removed Holmes and Robach from Good Morning America shortly after the scandal gained attention. In January, we reported that Holmes and Robach were no longer with the network. Eva Pilgrim and DeMarco Morgan have taken over as cohosts of GMA3.
Following their divorces from their spouses, Robach and Holmes recently announced a new collaboration. They teased their upcoming podcast with a joint Instagram post captioned "How's this for instagram official? #silentnomore."
