Tim McGraw’s daughters know how to properly roast their dad.
On Monday, December 18, McGraw, 56, posted a throwback photo from his first photoshoot in the '90s on social media. He shared that his three daughters, Gracie (26), Maggie (25), and Audrey (22), whom he has with Faith Hill, found the old photo incredibly amusing. The Instagram image showed McGraw giving a serious look to the camera as he embraces a guitar, with his caption acknowledging the humor in the retro photo.
He commented, "My first photo shoot was a disaster! Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself."
McGraw's daughters playfully joined in, with Gracie remarking, "It's unforgettable," and Audrey simply typing "HAHA."
McGraw may only get his three kids to collaborate with him on their opinions on his old-school style. Despite his best efforts, they refuse to sing with him, a fact he has been candid about. He has expressed his desire to do a song with all five of them, but they have declined, telling him, “I ain’t singing with you, Dad.” While they will sing with their mom, he believes he is the worst singer in the family and not up to par with the rest of them. He shared this sentiment with Entertainment Tonight in August.
All three of McGraw and Hill’s daughters have pursued careers in music. Gracie displayed her vocal talent in August 2019 by sharing a cover of Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb’s “What Kind of Fool” on her dad’s Instagram. McGraw captioned the post with, "PIPES!!!!!! …… Dang, this girl can sing!” Meanwhile, Maggie is a singer for the band Sister Supply, and Audrey has also showcased her love for music by sharing her renditions of favorite songs on Instagram.
McGraw and Hill, both 55, got married in 1996 and had their daughters Gracie, Maggie, and Audrey in 1997, 1998, and 2001. McGraw has mentioned that despite not wanting to collaborate with him, all three daughters are always the center of attention and continue to inspire him and his wife. Nonetheless, they still tease their parents whenever they can. In September, McGraw mentioned to ET that he would likely face some ribbing for being honored with the ACM Icon Award.
"My wife, three daughters, and I have a running joke that I'm the least talented singer in the family. I also like to tease the boys interested in my daughters," McGraw shared during an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2017.
Faith informed him, "I've met him and he's a really great guy. We've done extensive research on him, even putting our Secret Service guys on him. He's a good guy," he still wanted to meet her date and look him in the eyes.
When Gracie's date arrived, McGraw was in the kitchen preparing for a barbecue. "I was wearing a white apron and had a knife, trimming meat. I had chunks of meat and blood all over the white apron when the doorbell rang. I answered the door with a knife in my hand and a bloody apron on to meet Gracie's date."

In 2015, McGraw expressed his concerns about his daughters bringing boyfriends around and playfully joked about using intimidation to keep everyone in line. "I mean, I have a sledgehammer. I want it to be visceral," he quipped on Rachael Ray's talk show. He later clarified that he just wants his daughters to be happy and to have a good time.
