Thomas Rhett Can't Help but Chuckle as Wife Lauren Tackles Tall Christmas Tree Decoration

Thomas Rhett loves watching his wife, Lauren Akins, decorate the house for Christmas - it's his favorite time of the year. "My favorite video every year," the country singer, 33, joked in a Friday, November 24, Instagram video of Akins, 34, setting up their holiday tree. "Ha ha!"
Akins ascended a tall ladder, holding a wooden stick to fasten the ornaments on the towering tree. The couple's festive silver fir was adorned with an "Oh, what fun" garland and clear twinkling lights, along with various red and white decorations on the other branches.
As Akins did the hard work, Rhett relaxed in a chair next to their four daughters: 8-year-old Willa Gray, 6-year-old Ada James, 3-year-old Lennon Love, and 2-year-old Lillie Carolina. While chuckling at his wife's efforts, Rhett couldn't help but let out a snort.
"Hey mommy!" everyone chimed in, as Akins received a knowing look from her spouse, indicating that the kids shouldn't be doing this at home. She carefully descended from her elevated position.

Later that night, Akins shared another glimpse of her Christmas tree on Instagram.
"It's the most wonderful time of the year!" she wrote. "Only 3 broken ornaments and maybe a few tears shed, but it's all part of the sweet season of life where we all sleep really hard at night, haha."
Akins’ post showed their four kids in coordinating holiday nightgowns, all helping to place the final ornaments on the Christmas tree. Rhett and Akins had been friends since middle school, and their romantic relationship began after she went away to college. They tied the knot in October 2012, almost five years before their first child was born.
"When I first laid eyes on her, I felt an inexplicable connection," Akins exclusively told We in January 2018 about the adoption of Willa Gray from Uganda. "I always felt like she was meant to be my child. It just took a little longer for us to find each other. I called Thomas the first night I met her in Uganda and shared everything about her. Without hesitation, he said, 'Bring her home. She is meant to be with us. We will make it happen.'"

During their adoption process, Akins discovered she was expecting a baby. In August 2017, Ada James was born. Daughters Lennon and Lillie joined the family in February 2020 and November 2021, respectively. The Akins family loves celebrating the holidays, decorating their home, wearing matching pajamas on Christmas Eve, and throwing an annual Ugly Christmas Sweater party.
