Thomas Rhett and Wife Lauren Share Embarrassing Home Movies of Each Other to Celebrate New Song

Thomas Rhett dropped his latest single, “Beautiful as You,” on May 10th and decided to promote it in a fun way with his wife, Lauren Akins.

On May 13th, Rhett, 34, posted a reel on Instagram featuring some of Akins’ most amusing moments. The reel showed Akins, also 34, falling off a fence, tumbling from a horse, having trouble with golf, proudly holding two cans of Pringles, and more in a funny video montage.

Rhett captioned the post, expressing his love for @laur_akins by calling her a saint, goddess, cutest, and hottest. He also apologized before challenging her to continue the game by tagging her person using a song.

Akins accepted the challenge and retaliated by sharing some embarrassing moments of Rhett in her own post. Just a few hours later, she posted a video of Rhett awkwardly dancing, attempting to play basketball with his head, and showcasing some questionable hairstyles from his youth.

“Two can play at this game honey ️@thomasrhettakins #beautifulasyou,” she wrote, prompting Rhett to respond simply with “you win.”

He feels fortunate to be with someone who is incredibly beautiful and talented in many ways - as a partner, a mother, a friend, and a philanthropist. He feels like he has a front-row seat to almost-perfection. The lyrics of the song reflect this sentiment, starting with the line, "Baby girl, you out your mind, you’re way too good for me."

The chorus goes like this, "Why is someone as beautiful as you / Hanging around with someone like me? / I mean, girl, you could be with anyone you want / I better stop asking before you decide to leave / Why is someone as beautiful as you / Waking up next to someone like me?"
