She weighs 7 pounds 3 ounces and is unbelievably adorable, I can't handle it! We're all doing well now, just taking some much-needed rest. Thank you to everyone for your prayers - she is truly a miracle, and God is so good. Thomas Rhett and I are completely in love with her. Willa Gray is beyond excited to have a baby sister finally! Get ready for more pictures, because there are plenty to come!"
In July 2019, the Grammy nominee and his wife shared the news of their third baby on the way. "I am thrilled to announce that I will now be financing three weddings," the country singer joked alongside photos of his wife's growing baby bump. "I feel incredibly blessed to share that we are expecting our third child, and it's a girl!! I love you so much, @laur_akins. Willa Gray and Ada James, you two will be amazing big sisters! Let the chaos begin."

The singer of "Die a Happy Man" and his childhood sweetheart adopted their daughter, Willa, from Uganda in May 2017. Akins shared, "I always had a desire to adopt. My mother is actually adopted, and I come from an adopted family, so it has always felt natural to me. When I saw her... I felt an immediate connection. She has always been my baby, it just took us a little longer to find each other."
The former nurse continued to explain, "After meeting her in Uganda, I called Thomas that same night and told him about her. Without hesitation, he said, 'Bring her home. She is meant to be ours. We will make it happen.'"
Willa returned home in May 2017, and three months later, Akins gave birth to their daughter, Ada.
