Theresa Nist, 70, is currently going through a divorce with her husband Gerry Turner, also known as the Golden Bachelor. Despite their separation, Theresa is still holding onto her Neil Lane diamond ring.

Even after Gerry, 72, filed for divorce just three months after their wedding, Theresa was seen wearing her custom wedding ring with 18 round brilliant cut diamonds on Friday, April 12th.

Earlier in the day, Theresa mentioned to journalist Juju Chang on Good Morning America that she will need to return the jewelry eventually. This is part of the agreement she and Gerry made with ABC.

Theresa expressed that she believes she has to give the ring back, and she shared that the idea makes her feel "sad."

Theresa and Gerry revealed on the show that their breakup was mainly due to their long-distance relationship.

Gerry explained, "Theresa and I have had many deep conversations. We've discussed our living arrangements and we both agree that it's best for us to end our marriage."

He expressed, "One thing that stands out to me in our discussions is how committed we both are to our families. Therefore, considering this, we feel that it is best for each of us to live separately for our own happiness."

It was verified that Turner has filed for divorce in his hometown of Petersburg, Indiana, with Friday marked as the official date of their separation. The reason cited for the split was the "irretrievable breakdown" of their marriage, and they have a pre-existing prenuptial agreement in place.

The former Golden Bachelor couple never lived together, but they talked about their dream of living under the same roof one day in South Carolina.

Gerry shared with People in December 2023 that fate seemed to play a role in their potential future location. He had been considering a move to South Carolina, and when Theresa mentioned that her son lived near Charleston, it seemed like a perfect fit. This eliminated the issue of compromising on where to live and how to blend their families.

Theresa agreed with Gerry, saying that she imagined them buying a big house where their grown children and grandchildren could feel welcome when they come to visit.

Gerry and Teresa first met and fell in love on The Golden Bachelor's inaugural season. Their engagement took place during the show's finale in November 2023, and they exchanged vows in front of ABC cameras on January 4, 2024.

Both reality stars were previously married before tying the knot with each other. Gerry was married to his high school sweetheart, Toni, for 43 years until she passed away in 2017. Theresa, on the other hand, was married to her high school boyfriend, Billy, for 42 years until his passing in 2014.
