Following emotional goodbyes with her fellow contestants, Joan informed Gerry about her plans to leave.

Gerry expressed his understanding and disappointment to Joan, mentioning how he had been incredibly joyful earlier that day. However, he emphasized that they both have a shared moral compass and acknowledged that doing the right thing can be difficult. As Joan drove away, Gerry became visibly emotional, but she made an effort to stay optimistic.
“I hope one of my good friends back there gets to spend their life with him because I think he’s worth it,” she told the cameras.
