The Yonko, the four most powerful pirates in the world, can be defeated with planning and luck, as seen in the Wano Country arc.
Monkey D. Luffy, currently a Yonko, has endured numerous defeats in the past, yet has emerged stronger than ever and harnessed his full capabilities.
Prior to his ultimate defeat at the hands of Luffy during the Wano Country arc, Kaido, renowned as the Strongest Creature, had suffered defeat from seven different individuals.
The Yonko, also known as the Four Emperors, dominate the seas of One Piece. Comprised of four of the world's most powerful pirates, they rely on their formidable crews to maintain their dominance. However, even these seemingly invincible rulers are not immune to defeat, as demonstrated in the Wano Country arc where two Yonko fell victim to the next generation. Presented below are the recorded losses suffered by the Yonko.
5 Monkey D. Luffy
After his triumph over Kaido in Wano, Monkey D. Luffy ascended to the rank of Yonko, relying on the formidable power of Gear 5th to subdue his adversary. Presently, Luffy stands among the most formidable figures in One Piece, a far cry from his earlier struggles. Throughout the series, Luffy has endured multiple defeats, beginning with his encounter against Smoker in Logue Town, where he ultimately required rescue from Dragon. Following that, he suffered two more losses at the hands of Crocodile.
Luffy was additionally humbled by Rob Lucci, Aokiji, Kizaru, Magellan, and Kaido, all of whom contributed to his growth and the unlocking of his true potential. Although his journey as a Yonko has only just commenced, he must remain at the pinnacle of his abilities to prevent succumbing to his adversaries.
4 Whitebeard
In the realm of pirates, no one could rival the immense strength possessed by Whitebeard during his lifetime. It was rumored that only Gol D. Roger was able to engage in a battle with this formidable force on equal ground. Whitebeard's power stemmed from consuming the Gura Gura no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit enabling him to unleash devastating earthquakes. Such overwhelming might granted him the capability to bring about worldwide destruction. However, Whitebeard encountered two significant defeats throughout his eventful journey.
3 Kaido
Whitebeard suffered his first defeat in God Valley, where Roger and Garp joined forces to overpower the Rocks Pirates. Although Whitebeard had not yet achieved the status of a Yonko, this setback undoubtedly had a profound impact on him. At Marineford, Whitebeard engaged in a fierce battle against Blackbeard, nearly overpowering him completely. Yet, Blackbeard's crew intervened and shot Whitebeard multiple times. Ultimately, the Emperor met his demise, thus marking another loss for Whitebeard.
As the leader of the notorious Beasts Pirates, Kaido commanded respect and awe due to his unparalleled physical prowess. Growing up amidst the ravages of war, Kaido's indomitable strength set him apart. His formidable reputation grew far and wide, eventually catching the eye of the Rocks Pirates who eagerly welcomed him into their ranks. Even following the dramatic God Valley incident, Kaido's presence only escalated, eventually securing him a position as one of the Four Emperors.
Kaido gained renown as the Strongest Creature in the World, possessing the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit enabling him to assume the form of a colossal Azure Dragon. Additionally, Kaido had mastered the advanced levels of all three Haki disciplines, rendering him virtually unbeatable. Despite his immense might, he suffered defeat at the hands of seven other individuals. While the identities of his adversaries remain undisclosed, it is highly probable that they included Roger, Whitebeard, Rocks, and Shanks. Kaido's most significant and ultimate defeat transpired when Luffy emerged as his conqueror during the Wano Country arc, resulting in the downfall of his reign as a Yonko.
2 Big Mom
Totto Land, a vast archipelago in the New World, was under the rule of the formidable Big Mom. Not only did she possess all three types of Haki, but she also wielded the power of the Soru Soru no Mi. Merciless and unforgiving, Big Mom would even resort to harming children who dared to disobey her commands. Her prowess in battle was exemplified by her prolonged clash with Kaido's former ally, cementing her status on par with the fearsome pirate himself.
She was once a member of the Rocks Pirates, and her first major defeat occurred during the battle in God Valley. Big Mom didn't experience another loss until many decades later, in the Wano Country arc, where she was defeated by Law and Kid. The two Supernovas had to muster all of their strength to bring down the powerful Yonko and achieved their most significant victory to date. Although her current status is uncertain, it is highly likely that she has passed away.
1 Buggy
Buggy, formerly a member of the renowned Roger Pirates, extensively traversed the numerous regions encompassing the Grand Line. Regrettably, due to a prevailing illness, he was unable to venture onwards to the enigmatic Laugh Tale. Following the demise of Captain Roger, Buggy forged his own band of marauders and quickly gained notoriety within the feeble East Blue, considered the least formidable of the four seas.
In Orange Town, Buggy faced off against Luffy and experienced a humiliating defeat. He attempted to seek revenge in Logue Town but was unsuccessful once again. However, after his past was revealed, the World Government appointed him as a Shichibukai. This elevated Buggy's reputation, eventually leading him to become one of the Yonko. Despite this achievement, Buggy is widely acknowledged as the weakest among the current Yonko, and his threat level primarily stems from his reputation. As he continues his quest to claim the One Piece, it is only a matter of time before he suffers yet another defeat.
