In the world of One Piece, it's been a while since the Straw Hats have been in the spotlight. However, fans are not complaining as the recent chapters have been of high quality. Chapter 1083, like its predecessor, focuses on Marijoa and the events unfolding there.
The latest chapter puts the spotlight on Nefertari Cobra and the Five Elders. As the ruler of Alabasta, Cobra is keen to meet the highest authorities of the World Government. He approaches the Five Elders with questions about his ancestor and the mystery surrounding the letter "D." Unfortunately, the Five Elders are not forthcoming with any useful information. However, Cobra does catch a glimpse of Imu on the Empty Throne. Meanwhile, Charlos orders Bartholomew Kuma to capture Shirahoshi, and it's up to the Straw Hats to save her.
Shirahoshi, daughter of King Neptune, decided to join her family on their journey to the Reverie after meeting Luffy and wanting to see the world for herself. However, her experience in Marijoa was far from pleasant as Saint Charlos attempted to enslave her and no one intervened. Fortunately, Myosgard was nearby and saved her from Charlos. Despite this, Charlos persisted and managed to chain Shirahoshi with the help of Bartholomew Kuma, who had lost his sentience and was now a slave to Charlos. Fukaboshi and his brothers attempted to stop Kuma, but were prevented by Myosgard who reminded Fukaboshi of his responsibilities as a prince. Sai and Leo were able to take charge as they did not share the same responsibilities.
The moment Fukaboshi engaged in a heated argument with Myosgard, Sai and Leo seized the opportunity to launch a fierce attack on Charlos. It was a lethal blow that ultimately led to the Celestial Dragon's demise. Witnesses present at the scene attested to Charlos's death, and even Saint Rosward's reaction confirmed the same. Given the magnitude of the crime committed, the Marines were not going to let the perpetrators go without consequences.
It's no secret that the aftermath of Luffy's punch on Charlos will not go unnoticed. As Kizaru and his fleet appeared on the scene, it's safe to say that chaos will ensue. With Charlos' father seeking revenge for the harm inflicted upon his son by Sai and Leo, it's certain that he will stop at nothing to ensure justice is served. Brace yourself for the mayhem that is about to unfold in Marijoa.
Even prior to Charlos' demise, the Revolutionary Army had already caused a significant amount of chaos in Marijoa. Sabo's group had three objectives when they arrived at the Holy Land: to destroy the symbol of the Celestial Dragons, to free Kuma and other slaves, and to destroy the food supplies. They accomplished two out of the three objectives without much difficulty, leaving Kuma's rescue as the only unfinished task. In Chapter 1083, Morley successfully retrieved Kuma while Sabo took the keys to his collar. Sabo then entrusted the keys to Karasu and ordered him and the other Revolutionaries to return to headquarters once the slaves were freed. Sabo decided to stay behind in Marijoa to finish some other business.
While fleeing with Bonney, Sabo overheard the guards discussing the Lost Chamber. According to them, anyone who had seen it had disappeared. This particular piece of information piqued Sabo's interest, and it seems that the Lost Chamber is his intended destination. This would explain how he discovered the truth about Cobra's fate and the World Government's secret.
It will be intriguing to witness what happens to Sai and Leo. Despite Myosgard's claim that he will take full responsibility, the death of the Celestial Dragon will not be easily ignored, particularly since Rosward witnessed his son's demise. The best that Myosgard can do is to buy Sai, Leo, and the entourage from Fish-Man Island some time to evacuate Marijoa before the Marines or the Holy Knights take action against them.
The upcoming chapters of One Piece will focus on Vivi and Wapol, two characters who were last seen together on Morgan's ship. It's unusual that they were together, especially since they were not on good terms. During their encounter, Wapol scolded Vivi for speaking loudly, warning her that the World Government could find them. This strongly suggests that they witnessed something they weren't supposed to see. Considering that the World Government executes people for the same reason, it's highly likely they want to eliminate all witnesses, including Vivi and Wapol. With Cobra's death being the biggest news coming out of Marijoa, it's clear that the World Government is trying to keep the truth hidden. The next chapters hold a lot of potential, and it remains to be seen whether Oda can deliver.
