Raiden Shogun Card & Skills: Exploring Genshin Impact's Version 3.7 UpdateGenshin Impact's version 3.7 update has taken a unique approach by focusing primarily on the Genius Invokation TCG, rather than introducing significant changes to the actual gameplay. Along with events and a new Dendro character named Kirara from Inazuma, the update introduces numerous new cards, making it an exciting time for players. As a result, team compositions and the meta are expected to shift, as the diverse range of added cards opens up new strategic possibilities and encourages creative team building. In this article, we'll explore the Raiden Shogun card and skills, best Raiden Shogun decks, and recommended action cards to help you make the most of the new update.
Raiden Shogun Card & Skills
Players can now access the character cards of the Archons from the four existing regions, including the card of the Raiden Shogun, among other character cards. In the TCG, Raiden Shogun serves as an excellent battery character that generates energy for her allies, summons to deal additional Electro damage, and buffs elemental burst damage for the characters. With her burst becoming stronger when other characters have used their Bursts, players can expect her to unleash significant damage if used effectively.
Obtaining the Raiden Shogun card in Genshin Impact is a task made easy by using Match Invitation Letters and inviting her to a Friendly Faracas duel in the Cat's Tail Tavern. It's important to note that there is no specific level requirement to invite any of the new characters, even with the introduction of numerous new content and additional NPC duels. As each new card and its associated cosmetics requires Ancient Coins, it is recommended to pay attention to these duels. Winning the match will award players with the Raiden Shogun card, and completing extra objectives will allow them to earn her Talent card as well.

Raiden Shogun's Talent Card: Wishes Unnumbered
Using Raiden Shogun's Talent card can greatly benefit teams that prioritize her damage output. It's especially effective when used in conjunction with other team members' Bursts. While the card grants Raiden an additional +1 DMG based on the number of resolves, it may not be the best choice if players need to focus on other character's talents and action cards. However, prioritizing Raiden's Burst potential can result in dealing up to 9 damage with full resolve stacks, without relying on elemental reactions. This significant amount of damage has the potential to eliminate most opponents in a single hit.
She is a valuable asset to teams that prioritize the frequent and quick usage of Elemental Bursts, owing to Raiden Shogun's significant strength. Depending on the characters players wish to utilize, she can easily be incorporated into several team compositions. It is worth noting that she synergizes exceptionally well with the Electro resonance card, "Elemental Resonance: High Voltage." With a stroke of luck, players could activate her Burst in the first round, laying the foundation for other character cards to Burst in succeeding rounds. Although teams can be versatile, it is suggested to prioritize having at least 2 Electro characters, and if possible, 2 Inazuma characters, to enhance dice management possibilities.
Raiden Shogun + Keqing + Kokomi
This team composition is designed to maximize piercing damage through the use of Electro-charged reactions and Keqing's Elemental Burst, while also dealing significant single target damage each turn. Depending on available cards, players can opt to begin with either Keqing and then switch to Raiden Shogun, or start directly with Raiden Shogun to quickly trigger her Burst.
Raiden Shogun + Yae Miko + Nahida
When building a team with Kokomi, players should consider her as a support character rather than a main damage dealer. While her Burst and skill are useful, they can be used sparingly until the team has taken significant damage. Alternatively, Mona can be a good replacement for Kokomi, although players will need to focus on support cards that can restore the team's HP. This means omitting the use of Thunder and Eternity card and prioritizing other support cards that can keep the team alive.
By using Nahida's Elemental Skill's effect, a team composed of Raiden, Yae Miko, and Nahida can deal piercing damage similarly to the previous team composition. With all three characters requiring only 2 energy for their Bursts, players can easily unleash high amounts of Dendro and Electro damage. Their powerful Burst abilities are further amplified by the Quicken reaction. To maximize damage output, players should prioritize the Bursts of Raiden and Nahida, while Yae Miko takes on a supportive role. If players plan to use Yae Miko more frequently, they can consider summoning her totem before activating her Burst to increase her damage output.
Raiden Shogun + Sara + Zhongli
This team composition diverges from the reliance on elemental reactions seen in the other two compositions. Instead, the team prioritizes summons, with each character possessing the ability to summon. However, this strategy may leave them vulnerable to certain card effects. Sara's skill in boosting Electro reactions allows Raiden Shogun to take center stage as the primary character, aided by Zhongli and Sara for summons and bursts as needed. This playstyle is better suited for players who prefer a slower pace and can be advantageous when facing enemies with pre-existing elemental applications, such as certain boss opponents, as the team can benefit from elemental reactions in these scenarios.
Recommended Action Cards
To optimize gameplay in Genshin Impact, players should consider using cards that encourage frequent character swapping, such as Katheryne or Changing Shifts. It's also important to have cards that aid with dice management, like Varanara or The Bestest Travel Companion card, to ensure bursts can be used consistently. In addition, incorporating Food Action cards, like healing food, can be particularly beneficial if you don't have a dedicated healer on your team. Finally, Starsigns can help generate more energy in team compositions that lack two Electro characters.
