It is not worth consuming shields from other characters before using the one from the Ley Line, as getting two shields to withstand three damage is not advantageous. Healing is also ineffective since players always have 10 HP, and it does not contribute to the Endurance count. However, it is still advisable to have damage block food like Lotus Flower Crisp in one's arsenal.
