Luka, the newly introduced four-star character in Honkai: Star Rail version 1.2 update, brings versatility to team compositions with his diverse skill set. As a member of the Wildfire and a skilled martial arts performer, Luka stands out as the first character to apply the Physical DoT known as Bleed, making him truly one-of-a-kind.

Luka + Yukong + Asta + Natasha

Exploring the concept of DoT builds in Honkai: Star Rail may not be common yet, but with the arrival of characters like Kafka, players should consider delving into this strategy. Particularly, in the Simulated Universe's Nihility path, this approach can offer significant enjoyment. However, it's worth noting that Luka possesses a range of enemy debuffs and enhanced basic attacks, allowing him to fulfill various roles based on the players' needs and the content at hand. Consequently, we present several optimal team compositions for players to consider, ensuring that everyone can discover a suitable play style and character lineup.

In this team setup, the primary focus will be on Luka, who will act as the main source of damage for the team. Luka's basic attack will be utilized to its fullest potential, especially when he has accumulated 4 stacks of Fighting Will. These stacks can easily be obtained by Luka through the use of basic attacks, skills, or his ultimate ability, among other methods. By activating his Eidolons and unlocking his bonus abilities upon ascension, Luka's capabilities as the primary DPS are significantly enhanced, allowing him to deal even more damage with his improved basic attacks.

Additionally, all of these characters, except for Luka, are easily obtainable, allowing players to form a team without having to spend excessive resources. In this lineup, Luka is accompanied by two Harmony characters, both of whom enhance the team's ATK. Yukong boosts both Crit DMG and Crit Rate, while Asta increases the speed of the entire team. Natasha serves as the team's healer, but if players have access to other healer characters like Luocha, this setup can still be highly effective. This is especially true considering that Luocha can also take advantage of Yukong and Asta's attack buffs, thereby further improving his healing capabilities.

Luka + Yanqing + Pela + March 7th

This team composition, comprising of three Ice characters and Luka, is ideal for situations where players lack healers and need to focus on breaking Ice and Physical weaknesses, like in Forgotten Hall levels. Luka acts as a sub-DPS and buff dispeller alongside Pela. This team excels against enemies that frequently buff themselves while debuffing characters, with March 7th also able to dispel debuffs from team members.

Luka + Serval + Tingyun+ Bailu

Luka's effectiveness in this composition stems from his minimal reliance on Skill points, much like Pela and March 7th. This enables Yanqing to have frequent access to skill points. Moreover, Yanqing's ability to increase his own Crit Rate and Crit DMG allows him to synergize effectively with Pela's enemy debuffs, eliminating the need for Harmony characters in the team. Additionally, being a hunt character, Yanqing is less prone to being attacked, allowing March 7th to focus on protecting another character.

A different team composition, similar to the previous one, involves combining Luka with Serval, who acts as another Damage over Time (DoT) enabler. However, this time, the team's main focus is on dealing Lightning Damage, with Luka consistently applying DoT to inflict significant damage on each occasion. Conversely, Serval will utilize Shock to inflict damage on the enemies. Both characters, even at a 4-star rating, have excellent scaling abilities, allowing them to handle a wide range of content effectively.

In this scenario, players can also utilize Tingyun. However, they will have to decide whom to buff based on the current situation, as both Luka and Serval can benefit from her buffs. In the meantime, Bailu will serve as the dedicated healer to maintain the healing. While this team setup is fairly straightforward, those who prioritize different types of DoT's may want to consider replacing Tingyun with another character, such as Sampo or Hook.

Luka + Clara + Silver Wolf + Natasha

In order to enhance their mono-Physical teams, players have the option to incorporate Luka and Clara. Those without access to Clara can still benefit from utilizing Sushang, as both of these characters will serve as the primary DPS while Luka supports with buff dispels and Bleed DoTs. The inclusion of a character like Silver Wolf adds further viability and versatility to the team, as her unique ability not only debuffs enemies for increased damage but also inflicts weaknesses based on the team's respective elements.

Luka + Kafka + Sampo + Luocha

Even against adversaries who are not inherently vulnerable to Physical attacks, this team will excel. Natasha will once again take on the role of primary healer, while also contributing significant damage, especially since Clara, in particular, does not heavily rely on a healer. With a combination of both single-target and area-of-effect damage potential, this team becomes an extremely formidable force across various types of content.

Given that Luka is initially introduced during Kafka's limited-time banner, many players may have obtained him while attempting to acquire Kafka. Fortunately, all characters featured in Kafka's banner, including Luka, serve as excellent team members for her. This is due to Kafka's unique ability to become increasingly powerful with each instance of Damage over Time (DoT) inflicted upon the enemy. Thus, by forming a team with these characters, players can consistently apply Bleed, Wind Shear, and Shock, while also amplifying the damage output of both the DoTs and Kafka.

On the other hand, for defensive purposes, players should consider adding Luocha to their team. Luocha can help maintain high HP for the team and has valuable skill points. This allows the rest of the team, particularly Kafka, to focus on their roles. If Luocha is not available, players can also consider other characters like Gepard from the Abundance or Preservation group.

Regardless, combining Luka, Sampo, and Kafka creates one of the most effective team compositions for both Luka and Kafka. However, if the content requires a Fire weakness instead of Wind, players can replace Sampo with Hook.

Honkai: Star Rail is currently accessible on Android, iOS, and PC platforms. A PlayStation version is also being developed.
