In the vast and mysterious world of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, some Shrines are not easily found and require players to prove their mettle before granting access. The Zakusu Shrine is one such enigma, a hidden treasure trove of challenges that must be unlocked to reap the rewards. This walkthrough will guide you through the process of unlocking the Zakusu Shrine, as well as provide you with the necessary steps to complete it and acquire the coveted Light of Blessing, which will enhance Link's stamina or health.

How to Unlock the Zakusu Shrine in TotK

To access the Zakusu Shrine, players must first unlock it. For those playing TotK, head to the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower located on the east side of Hyrule, just south of Zora's Domain and north of Hateno Village. Launch Link into the sky and fly towards the South Lanayru Sky Archipelago. From there, head south/southeast to an island with a circular pool of water, as shown in the image below.

The island in question has these coordinates: 3966, -1540, 1119.

As soon as players set foot on the island, they'll come across a semi-circle-shaped altar bearing the unmistakable Ultrahand symbol, which glows a bright green. To activate it, simply press the A button, and a green ring will materialize at the far end of the island. Stepping inside the ring will initiate a mini-game, where Link must chase the green light and pass through all the rings while sliding down the mountain. To achieve this, players can grab one of their shields and use it to surf down the slopes.

To engage in shield surfing in Tears of the Kingdom, simply press the Parry (ZL), Jump (X), and A buttons at the same time. Successfully maneuver through the rings and you will unlock the Zakusu Shrine located at coordinates 3532, -1482, 0167.

Zakusu Shrine Walkthrough (Proving Grounds: Ascension)

Link will be stripped of his armor and weapons upon entering the Zakusu shrine, just like the other 'Proving Grounds' in Tears of the Kingdom. The challenge will be to defeat every enemy Construct in the room using only his skills and wits. While there are no puzzles to solve, players can still utilize these tips to gain an advantage over the Constructs and navigate the room with ease.

At the entrance of the shrine, don't forget to grab the stick, bow, and shield. To reach the upper area, make use of Recall on the moving platform. Fuse your weapons whenever possible and take advantage of the Zonai rockets by fusing them to a shield for an impressive boost in the air. Utilize the elemental fruit found on the bushes by fusing them with arrows to defeat your enemies. When leaving the shrine, make sure to use the Flame Emitters to deal heavy fire damage. Ascend on most of the platforms in this area and remember that Link's equipment will be returned once the Constructs are defeated. Lastly, be sure to check out the hidden chest located at the exit of the Zakusu Shrine, which contains a Soldier IV Spear with an impressive attack power of 42.
