Where to Find Bonsly
Pokemon in Pokemon GO undergo evolution by consuming candy, though certain species can also evolve through trading. Additionally, there are specific Pokemon that require an additional measure to accomplish their evolution. This particularly applies to Bonslys in Pokemon GO. In order to obtain a Sudowoodo, trainers must go the extra mile by walking.
Bonsly is typically acquired from 5km Eggs. Being classified as a 4-star rarity, it falls into the uncommon category and has to compete with Sableye and Chingling, along with the Pokemon in tier 1 such as Mareanie, and those in tier 2 like Machop and Tyrogue.
To acquire 5km Eggs, players need to spin Poke Stop or Gym discs while having open space in their Egg Inventory. Spinning a Poke Stop has a chance of yielding a 2km, 5km, or 10km Egg. Each Egg contains a unique set of Pokemon, which may change during in-game events.
In Pokemon GO, Eggs cannot hatch without being placed in an Incubator first. Every Pokemon GO trainer is provided with an unbreakable Egg Incubator. The maximum number of Eggs that can be stored in the inventory is 9 Regular Eggs (ranging from 2km to 10km, including Adventure Sync Eggs) and 3 Strange Eggs. Here are the necessary steps to follow:
Tap the Poke Ball icon at the bottom of the screen.
Select the Pokemon Storage (Pikachu icon).

Shop offers Incubators for purchase. The price of an Egg Incubator is 150 Poke Coins, while a Super Incubator costs 200 Coins. Using a Super Incubator reduces the distance required to hatch an Egg by half. All Incubators, except for the orange one, break after being used three times.
Trainers who wish to buy Egg Incubators in large quantities should explore the Limited Time Only! section of the Shop. The Voyager Box includes x10 Egg Incubators, x8 Super Incubators, and x40 Ultra Balls. However, this box comes with a price tag of 1750 Poke Coins.
How to Evolve Bonsly into Sudowoodo
To evolve Bonsly into Sudowoodo, players must feed it 50 Bonsly Candy, assign it as a Buddy Pokemon, and cover a distance of 15km. Once these requirements are fulfilled, players can proceed with the evolution of Bonsly. To designate a Buddy Pokemon, simply tap on the trainer profile located in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
Tap either "Buddy History" or "Choose a Buddy" below the Trainer Level XP bar.
If you have already set a Buddy, you can tap the Buddy Pokemon's icon on the main screen. Scroll to the bottom and select "Swap Buddy". It is possible to swap Pokemon Buddies up to 20 times daily.
Buddy Pokemon will gather Candy after trainers complete a certain distance of kilometers. Specifically, Bonsly will accumulate one Candy for every 5km walked. This simplifies tracking for players, as Bonsly will amass a total of 3 Candy in 15km.

Instead of going through the hassle of hatching Bonsly and accompanying it on adventures, Pokemon GO players have the option to search for a Sudowoodo. Occasionally, this Pokemon can be obtained as a reward for completing Field Research Breakthroughs. These breakthroughs require players to complete one Field Research task per day for seven days, not necessarily consecutively. After completing the tasks, players are rewarded with Stardust and two additional prizes before given the opportunity to capture the Field Research Breakthrough Pokemon. It's important to note that the Pokemon available in Field Research Breakthrough rewards can change over time, so just because Sudowoodo appears once does not guarantee its presence in the future.
When battling against Team GO Rocket Grunts, players may encounter a Shadow Sudowoodo. If the Grunt is successfully defeated, there is an opportunity to capture the Shadow Sudowoodo. To increase the chances of capturing Shadow Pokemon, players should use berries like Razz Berries. In cases where players want the Sudowoodo to stop attacking, a Nanab Berry can be used.
It is important to note that Shadow Pokemon can only be captured using Premier Balls. The number of Premier Balls available during Surprise/Shadow Encounters will depend on the trainer's performance in the battle against the Grunt.
Sudowoodo is a Rock-type Pokemon, so avoid bringing Flying or Ice-type Pokemon to battle it. Bring a Fighting, Water, Steel, or Grass-type instead.
