The BrayTech Osprey, a weapon from Destiny 2's past, has been redesigned with new perks suitable for the current sandbox. As an exclusive weapon in Nightfall, it offers strong perk combinations that allow it to rival top-tier weapons in its category.
To effectively use the BrayTech Osprey in challenging content, players should aim to obtain a perfect roll. Although the rocket launcher's perk selection is limited, all available perks are sufficient for general gameplay. However, certain combinations truly elevate its performance, providing a unique experience.

The BrayTech Osprey: A High-Impact Frame Rocket Launcher
BrayTech Osprey Perk Pool
The BrayTech Osprey, a High-Impact Frame Rocket Launcher, sets itself apart from Precision and Hakke Rocket Launcher frames with its slower firing speed. However, it more than compensates for this drawback with its ability to deal higher damage on direct hits. While this archetype is primarily recommended for DPS phases against bosses, the BrayTech Osprey stands out with its perk combinations that excel at effectively clearing groups of enemies as well.
Barrel | Magazine | Trait | Trait |
Volatile Launch | Alloy Casing | Cluster Bomb | Destabilizing Rounds |
Confined Launch | Black Powder | Auto-Loading Holster | Bipod |
Counter Mass | High-Velocity Rounds | Envious Assasssin | Golden Tricorn |
Hard Launch | Implosion Rounds | Keep Away | Chain Reaction |
Linear Compensator | Impact Casing | Pulse Monitor | Frenzy |
Quick Launch | Field Prep | Lasting Impression | |
Smart Drift Control |
Upon quick observation, a seasoned player can promptly discern that virtually all of the Traits associated with the BrayTech Osprey exceptionally excel in inflicting immense damage upon formidable bosses. Conversely, only a select few Traits are optimally equipped for effectively managing and subduing hordes of adversaries. Ideal rolls, considered the epitome of perfection for these respective purposes, would consist of the following:
Single-target god roll:Quick Launch
Impact Casing
Field Prep
Lasting Impression
Reload Speed Masterwork w/ Adept Big Ones Spec
AOE add-clear:Linear Compensator
Black Powder
Envious Assassin/Cluster Bomb
Chain Reaction/Bipod
Velocity Masterwork w/ Adept Projectile Speed
The god roll for single-target damage is capable of dealing 774,242 damage across eight rockets, making it highly effective against powerful combatants, bosses, and vehicles. This loadout allows players to maximize damage output while conserving ammunition. However, an alternative option to consider is utilizing the Bipod perk, which increases the Osprey's ammo capacity to 13 rockets and results in a total damage output of 792,780.
Bipod is particularly useful as a single-target DPS perk when facing bosses with large hitboxes and extended vulnerability periods. Ideally, players should aim for enemies that remain vulnerable long enough to utilize all rockets. Enhancing reload speed can significantly enhance the effectiveness of this perk, although similar benefits can be achieved with different perk combinations when using other rocket launchers.
The Bipod is a fantastic option when coupled with Cluster Bomb for effectively clearing groups. This combination overcomes the low blast radius of the BrayTech Osprey and provides players with an additional rocket to inflict significant area-of-effect damage. A similar strategy can be applied with Envious Assassin and Chain Reaction, although this particular combo focuses more on direct damage.
It is worth noting Pulse Monitor as it allows players to trigger instant reloads by inflicting self-damage through explosions. However, this tactic necessitates precise positioning, the assistance of a Well of Radiance, and a stationary target in order to be utilized effectively.
Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
