Unfortunately, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3 is not confirmed at this time. In 2018, ten years after The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 released, Bledel appeared on Jimmy Fallon and told the host that she, Tamblyn, Ferrera, and Lively pitched a third movie. Just a day earlier, Lively said something similar, to ET: 'I think it [The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3] could really happen.' Since 2018, there has been very little in the way of updates on The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3. The only news that did come was not of the hopeful variety. When asked about The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3 on SiriusXM's Pop Culture Spotlight, Tamblyn said, 'It's very complicated for a lot of reasons. Just the fact that between the four of us, we all have like 870 children, so you know, it's hard.' That interview was in 2022, 15 years after the second film premiered, and each of the stars is now in a very different place in their lives.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3 would need all four leading women to return if the movie was going to be successful. Their chemistry and talent are four major reasons why the first two films worked so well and left a lasting impression. Lively, Bledel, Tamblyn, and Ferrera are friends in real life (via USA Today), and so there's a good chance that if the film is a go, it will only take one of the foursome to agree before the rest follow suit.
