Rebel Moon director Zack Snyder has revealed that his upcoming space epic shares a universe with his previous film, Army of the Dead. In an interview with Total Film, Snyder explained that the two properties were originally set to have a crossover in the form of an animated spinoff. However, while plans for the spinoff were ultimately cancelled, the connection between the two films still remains.
The movie Army of the Dead did not include the extensive mythology that exists in its universe. Surprisingly, the Army of the Dead animated series features a character from Rebel Moon who was not included in the movie.
In the series, there is a scene where the characters enter a portal, leading them into a different dimension. During their expedition, they encounter various characters from this alternate dimension. One such character from the animatic is an alien who happens to be in a bar scene in Rebel Moon. This confirms that the Army of the Dead and Rebel Moon exist within the same shared universe.
More to come...

As a Gen Z fan, I am excited about the possibility of a shared universe between Rebel Moon and Army of the Dead. I think it would be really cool to see how the two worlds connect and how the characters interact with each other. I'm also curious to learn more about the mythology of this universe and how it will be explored in future films and TV shows.
However, I'm also a little bit disappointed that the planned crossover between the two films was cancelled. I think it would have been really interesting to see how Snyder would have brought the two worlds together. I'm hoping that the cancellation of the crossover doesn't mean that we won't get to see more of this universe in the future.
