Three years after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's departure as senior royals, the official royal family website has removed Prince Harry's HRH title.
The site removed the title following a report by U.K. outlet Express on August 4th, stating that Harry, 38, was still referred to as HRH in his bio. The page also includes a tweet from 2017 which refers to Harry as HRH during a meeting with military veterans. The tweet, which shows Harry greeting the public, mentions that after participating in a discussion regarding support for ex-personnel, HRH met with other residents living on the street.
The website change occurs three years after Buckingham Palace's announcement in January 2020 that Harry and Meghan, aged 41, would no longer use their HRH titles as they transitioned from being working members of the Royal Family. An interviewee from Prince Harry and Meghan's camp informed Good Morning America in May that their children, Archie (4) and Lilibet (2), can still employ the prince and princess titles due to it being their "birthright since their grandfather, King Charles III, assumed the throne in September 2022." Upon Harry and Meghan's decision to step down in 2020, Queen Elizabeth II expressed her support through an official statement.
“I am happy to announce that, after numerous months of conversations and recent discussions, we have successfully reached a positive and supportive resolution for my grandson and his family. It brings me great joy to acknowledge that Harry, Meghan, and Archie will forever remain cherished members of my family,” wrote the queen on the royal family website in September 2022, before her passing at the age of 96.
“I am fully aware of the difficulties they have faced due to relentless scrutiny in the past two years, and I stand by their desire for a life of greater independence.”
Harry remained supportive of Elizabeth throughout her life, but upon stepping down from their positions, he and Meghan, 41, publicly criticized the way they were treated by the royal family. Harry specifically accused his brother Prince William and his father Charles, 74, who became king after Elizabeth's passing. In September 2022, during his first speech as monarch, Charles expressed his love for Harry and Meghan as they build their lives abroad.

Harry claimed in his memoir, Spare, released in January, that he was once physically attacked by William, 41, after he referred to Meghan as “difficult,” “rude,” and “abrasive.” Additionally, Harry alleged that negative stories about him and William were planted by Charles’ team.
According to royal expert Christopher Andersen in an exclusive interview with us last month, in the years following, Charles and William, who is now next in line for the throne, have had to present a united front against Harry and Meghan. They have faced insults from their own family members, which has been a challenging experience. However, this ordeal has only strengthened their bond.
Harry and Meghan are presenting a strong and united front in the face of multiple lawsuits against U.K. tabloids, conflicts with the rest of the royal family, criticism towards their entertainment projects, and other difficulties. An exclusive source revealed, "They have been through a tough period, but they view it as Harry and Meghan versus the world."
