Prince Harry and Prince William are currently experiencing a strained relationship, which could cause issues for the future king. According to a royal insider, if the rift between the brothers persists, it could be detrimental for the monarchy. This is because William, who is 41 years old, would be missing out on having someone who is supposed to be his closest and most important support.
Charles Rae expressed his sadness over the distance between William and Harry, emphasizing how close they used to be. He believed that Harry would have been one of William's top advisers when he becomes King, but now that seems unlikely. The royal expert and author also mentioned that Princess Diana always wanted her boys to stay close, as they had each other and stood together against the world. Unfortunately, that bond seems to have faded now.
The siblings' relationship has had its ups and downs over the years, especially after Harry, 39, chose to step back from his royal duties.
According to ITV Royal Editor Chris Ship, Harry reached out to his brother and his wife Princess Kate Middleton before they learned about her cancer diagnosis in March.
Tom Quinn, a royal author, revealed that William and Kate have shown interest in reconciling with Harry and Meghan Markle. However, according to Quinn, there has been no progress in that direction as of now.

Harry and his brother, the princes, haven't seen eye to eye in years. According to royal expert Tessa Dunlop in an exclusive interview with us in March, Harry is now in a "painful place" after learning about his sister-in-law's illness.
"It can be really tough when you find out your sister-in-law has cancer and you've already said things that can't be taken back," she shared. "I understand how painful that can be."
Harry, 39, has also been experiencing difficulties in his relationships with other family members, such as his father King Charles, ever since he and Duchess Meghan moved from London to California with their two children. They welcomed Prince Archie in 2019 and Princess Lilibet in 2021.
Harry claimed in a shocking CBS interview in March 2021 that his family had stopped providing him with financial support, leaving him to fend for himself and his family. He revealed that he was cut off in early 2020, but he was able to rely on the inheritance left to him by his late mother to make ends meet.
Even amidst the family discord, Harry decided to make a solo journey across the ocean to visit the king after Buckingham Palace revealed in February that the monarch was battling cancer.
Harry expressed his love for his family during an interview on Good Morning America. He mentioned how grateful he was to be able to visit his father and spend time with him. Without hesitation, he quickly boarded a plane to go see him.
Although Harry did not reveal details about his father's health, he did mention that he would be heading back to London soon. He shared his plans of traveling around the UK and making sure to stop in and spend time with his family whenever possible.
Editor's P/S:
The strained relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William is a matter of great concern, not only for the royal family but also for the future of the monarchy. The brothers, once so close, are now reportedly at odds, and this could have serious consequences for William's reign as king. As a royal expert pointed out, William would be missing out on having someone who is supposed to be his closest and most important support. This could create a sense of isolation and loneliness for the future king, which could affect his ability to rule effectively.
Moreover, the rift between the brothers could damage the public's perception of the royal family. The monarchy relies on the support of the people, and if the public sees that the family is divided, it could lead to a loss of confidence in the institution. This could ultimately undermine the monarchy's authority and stability. It is therefore imperative that the brothers find a way to resolve their differences and rebuild their relationship. The future of the monarchy may depend on it.
