The Story Behind Damsel
A new poster for Damsel reveals the release date for Millie Bobby Brown's upcoming fantasy film on Netflix. The poster shows a close-up of Brown's eye, with a dragon reflecting off of it. This underscores how big of a danger the beast will be, acting as the main threat in the film as Elodie tries to escape. Everything We Know About Damsel: Damsel is expected to be a survival movie with a fantasy twist, as Elodie will have to outwit a dragon, so she doesn't become a sacrificial pawn. The film's director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is best known for directing horror films like 28 Weeks Later and Intruders. Teaming up with writer Dan Mazeau - who has previously worked on the Greek mythology film Wrath of the Titans - means the story might play out like a horror movie with a fantasy backdrop. The cast of Damsel is also filled with talented actors who will be bringing Elodie's fight for survival to life. This includes Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Ray Winstone (Last Orders), and Nick Robinson (History of the World, Part II). Since the characters in the dark fantasy film will be portrayed by seasoned actors, there will no doubt be plenty of memorable moments throughout its harrowing story.

The Anticipation and Expectations
Now that Damsel has a release date, it won't be long before even more information about the action-packed survival film is revealed. Given Brown's work with Netflix on Stranger Things, there's no doubt she can provide a memorable performance in the upcoming feature film. It remains to be seen just how much difficulty Elodie will have to go through in the movie, and how she can escape the fire-breathing dragon she's been sacrificed to. Brown is also starring in The Electric State, a sci-fi film also coming to Netflix in 2024.
