"I began crafting the scripts for this show during the Christmas holidays of last year, motivated by indulging in turkey sandwiches and bottles of cream liquor," Barton expressed in a statement.

"Now, embarking on the production phase with a team of talented individuals whom I greatly admire fills me with immense excitement. I am absolutely thrilled to witness the realization of this show."

Black Doves cast: Who’s in it?

The confirmed cast members of Black Doves are as follows:

Keira Knightly is renowned for her performances in acclaimed films such as Atonement, Bend it Like Beckham, and Pride and Prejudice. Meanwhile, Ben Whishaw, who has recently appeared in Passages and Paddington.

Sarah Lancashire joins the cast of Black Doves following the successful third season of Happy Valley. Additionally, she will be appearing in the second season of the HBO show Julia. Collaborating with Joe Barton as the creator, the series will be directed by Alex Gabassi and Lisa Gunning. Harry Munday will also serve as a producer.

Black Doves plot: What is it about?
