The Impact of the Firmware Issue
Thankfully, Larian Studios has revealed a temporary fix via its official Twitter for Baldur's Gate 3 players until Microsoft is able to officially correct the problem. Affected Xbox players need to create a Larian account and follow a series of instructions in order to effectively save one's progress. The method isn't perfect, but it's at least a solution until Microsoft fixes the firmware issue that's causing this bug.

How to Implement the Temporary Fix
After creating a Larian account, select Options from the Main Menu. Then, activate Cross-Save under Gameplay. This will connect one's Larian account to one's Xbox account. A player's last 5 Baldur's Gate 3 saves will be uploaded to Larian's servers. The upload is finished when 'Syncing Cloud Save' can no longer be seen. Players should not exit the game before this has been done. If players encounter the firmware bug, activating Cross-Save via the Options menu will give players access to their most recent saves that were successful.
Larian Studios' Efforts to Provide a Solution
Although this isn't exactly the fix that many Xbox players were hoping for, it's great that Larian Studios is making the effort to offer player's solutions until everything is officially resolved. Microsoft has already had to fix save issues in Baldur's Gate 3, and it's unfortunate that the problem still persists. However, until the firmware issue is corrected, there is at least an effective workaround from Larian Studios.
