With only 100 days left until the Paris Olympics kick off, Team USA is predicted to lead the medal count once more at this year's Summer Games.
Nielsen's Gracenote recently unveiled a virtual medal table for the Paris Olympics, projecting that the US will bring home a total of 123 medals - 39 gold, 37 silver, and 47 bronze.
The team won the same number of golds as they did in Tokyo three years ago, but they also won 10 more medals overall.
According to Gracenote, if this total is achieved, it will be the best US medal performance since the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, which faced boycotts.
The United States team is expected to win medals in 27 different sports in the Virtual Medal Table, which is two sports fewer than the country's own Olympic record of 29 set in Tokyo. Athletics and swimming continue to be crucial for success, with just under half of US medals projected to be won in these two sports.

China is predicted by Gracenote to win 89 medals (the same as in Tokyo), Great Britain 66 and host France 55 – an increase of 22 compared to the previous Olympics.
The top 10 countries in the virtual medal table include Australia, Japan, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, and South Korea.
This table is created using a statistical model that considers both individual and team performances in previous events such as the Olympics, world championships, and World Cups.
According to Gracenote's model, American sprinters Christian Coleman and Noah Lyles are expected to win the men’s 100- and 200-meter races respectively. The US women’s gymnastics team is also predicted to take gold, along with the men’s and women’s basketball teams.
In the swimming events, Katie Ledecky has been forecasted to win gold in the 1,500- and 800-meter freestyle events. Simone Biles, who made a comeback to gymnastics last year after a break from the sport, is expected to claim silvers in the beam, floor exercise, and individual all-around events.
This year’s Games officially get underway on July 26 and conclude on August 11.
