Taylor Swift took to her Instagram story on Saturday to inform her fans that her concert, which was originally planned for Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has been postponed due to the intense heat.
The statement emphasizes that the safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers, and crew will always be of utmost importance," she stated.
"I can't believe I am writing these words, but it is with a heavy heart that I announce the loss of a fan earlier tonight, before my show," Swift expressed on her Instagram story. "I cannot begin to convey the devastation I feel. There is limited information available regarding the circumstances, except that she was exceptionally beautiful and tragically young." The exact details surrounding the death remain unclear.
"I won't be able to address this on stage as it brings overwhelming grief whenever I attempt to discuss it," Swift expressed. "I want to deeply acknowledge this loss and extend my heartfelt condolences to her family and friends. This unforeseen turn of events in bringing our tour to Brazil is truly heartbreaking."
Friday marked Swift's inaugural performance in Rio de Janeiro where the city is currently enduring high temperatures, as indicated by Brazil's National Institute of Meteorology.
Swift is slated to perform on Sunday in Rio de Janeiro before heading to Sao Paulo for an additional three performances, according to her website.
