Taylor Swift showed her appreciation for the truck drivers on The Eras Tour by giving them $100,000 bonuses. The 33-year-old singer thanked them for their hard work in transporting the tour's equipment across the United States. According to TMZ, Swift distributed a total of $5 million in monetary gifts to approximately 50 drivers in her tour crew.
In addition, it was reported by the outlet that Swift expressed her appreciation towards her Eras Tour band, dancers, caterers, lighting and sound technicians, and other members of the staff by giving them bonuses. However, the specific amount they received remains unknown.
Swift chose to show her gratitude a few days before her last performances for the Eras Tour in the United States, which will take place at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. After completing a series of six shows at the venue in California, Swift will then travel to South America with Sabrina Carpenter, her opening act, for a number of concerts until November 26.
Starting in February 2024, Swift will be embarking on a worldwide tour, gracing over 60 cities with her incredible talent. From Japan to Australia, Singapore to France, Sweden to Portugal, Spain to Ireland, and many more, she will be captivating audiences across the globe. Prior to this, the Eras Tour commenced in Glendale, Arizona on March 17 and Swift has enthralled fans with her three-hour setlist in numerous cities throughout the United States. However, the tour experienced initial challenges when fans faced difficulties in purchasing tickets through Ticketmaster due to the overwhelming demand at the end of last year.
“There are numerous reasons why individuals faced immense challenges in obtaining tickets, and I am determined to find ways to enhance this situation going forward," Swift expressed in a lengthy Instagram Story in November 2022. "We repeatedly sought assurance from Ticketmaster that they could handle this level of demand, and they assured us they could. It is truly remarkable that 2.4 million people were able to acquire tickets, but it strongly frustrates me that many of them feel as though they endured multiple arduous experiences to obtain them."
Throughout the duration of the tour, Swift has pleasantly surprised her fans with numerous outfit changes, special appearances, the announcement of Speak Now (Taylor's Version), premieres of music videos, and various other thrilling moments. The excitement has been so overwhelming that the energy generated by Swifties actually caused seismic activity equivalent to a 2.3 magnitude earthquake during Swift's two performances in Seattle last month.
In Seattle, Swift's close friends Haim made their debut live performance of their collaboration "No Body, No Crime," which was included in Swift's 2020 album Evermore. (Haim will be the opening act for the West Coast tour.)
During the Evermore set in Santa Clara on Friday, July 28, Alana, Este, and Danielle Haim pleasantly surprised fans by wearing the purple, green, and pink ball gowns featured in Swift's "Bejeweled" music video.
One night later, Swift appeared to reference her breakup with longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn earlier this year, during her performance of the Lover bonus track "All of the Girls You Loved Before." As she sang the lyrics, "Cryin' in the bathroom for some dude / Whose name I cannot remember now," Swift shook her head. (The couple started dating in May 2017, but their split was confirmed in April.)
