Taylor Swift fans who purchased the physical edition of The Tortured Poets Department will discover an original poem on the final page. We are here to explain everything.

Fans have shared that the poetry can be found in a booklet included with "The Manuscript" version of the TTPD vinyl. These verses offer insight into Swift's intentions behind her 11th studio album, a double record that delves into themes of breakups, conflicts, new romance, and more. The album was released on Friday, April 19th.

The poem starts with me standing in front of my colleagues from the Tortured Poets Department, presenting a summary of my findings. It's like a debrief, going back in detail to warn everyone.

I go on to remind everyone about a time when I was dealing with a case of limited humanity, which led me to plead temporary insanity today. The swinging pendulum of emotions brings chaos and pushes a trapped soul to do strange things.

Swift, who is 34 years old, then talks about relationships that didn't work out, possibly referring to the songs she wrote about her former boyfriends Joe Alwyn and Matty Healy.

The poem goes on to say, "Feelings of anger eating away / the special moments we shared. / Stars carefully arranged and stuck / one by one near the ceiling fan. / I attempted to wish on shooting stars. / I tried to dull the brightness. / I tried to revolve around his world. / Some things just don't come together."

Taylor Swift explains that she has torn down "the whole sky" and experienced a sense of "dazzling freedom."

She describes a moment when something old and respected crashed through the skylight, offering the possibility of being reborn as something new. Swift compares this transformative experience to being taken out of one intense situation and thrown into another.

"Saving the empress from her gilded tower, swinging a sword he could barely lift, how gallant! But at that fateful hour, loneliness struck. Low hanging fruit on his wine-stained lips, he never even scratched the surface of me. None of them did."

In summation, Swift notes in quotation marks and with an exclamation mark, "it was not a love affair" but instead a "mutual manic phase."

The poem discusses self-harm and then a cardiac arrest. The poet smiles because they write best about the worst men.

In TTPD, there are many references to Alwyn, who Swift dated from 2016 to 2023, and Healy, with whom she had a short romance in spring 2023. Insiders revealed that the 1975 frontman, aged 35, was informed about the musical mentions.

A source exclusively told We that Matty still holds Taylor in high regard, but there was nervousness about what she might have said on the album. Matty has struggled with being in the public eye, and although he's been doing well, the last thing he needs is for Swifties to think he's a villain.

Swift has moved on with NFL star Travis Kelce, who seems to have inspired the romantic tracks "The Alchemy" and "So High School" on the album. The Grammy winner made it clear in a social media post on Friday that she has moved on from her past relationships.

Taylor Swift recently reflected on her past work, 'The Tortured Poets Department,' stating that this chapter of her life is now closed. She mentioned on Instagram that there is no need for revenge or settling scores once wounds have healed. Swift also expressed that some of the pain she experienced was self-inflicted. She believes that expressing our sadness through writing can be healing, as our tears become sacred once put on paper. This allows us to let go of our saddest stories and find freedom.

The Tortured Poets Department (TTPD) booklet poem concludes with the stanza "all’s fair in love and poetry," which was previously revealed by Swift when she first unveiled the TTPD cover earlier this year.

Now, you can get your hands on the Tortured Poets Department booklet.
