Taylor Swift is ready for fans to be blown away with the vault tracks on her sixth studio album, Reputation.
During an interview with TIME, 33-year-old Swift spoke about the never-before-heard songs on Reputation, which she referred to as a "goth-punk moment of female rage at being gaslit by an entire social structure." She also praised the vault tracks as "fire." The album was originally released in 2017, following the controversy with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, who accused Swift of manipulating the situation.
"I believe many people have just dismissed it as 'crazy snakes and flashing lights,'" she shared with TIME about the album. She also described the West and Kardashian conflict as feeling like the end of her career.
Elaborating on her experience, she said, "It took a huge toll on my mental health. I relocated to a different country and secluded myself in a rental house for a year. I became fearful of answering phone calls and pushed away most people in my life due to a lack of trust. I went through a very difficult period."
Swift has already released Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), Red (Taylor’s Version) and 1989 (Taylor’s Version). Reputation and her debut album, Taylor Swift, are the two albums that remain. (Swift is rerecording her albums to have control over her master recordings after music executive Scooter Braun bought the rights to her music in 2019. Through the years, Swift has called Bruan, 42, a “bully,” and told TIME he “hates” her.)

"I've learned that my reaction to both good and bad situations is to continue creating, to keep making art," she explained. "But I've also realized that there's no use in actively trying to 'defeat' your enemies. They will inevitably sabotage themselves every time."
Swift revealed to TIME that her friends and family, including her father Scott Swift and Kelly Clarkson, pushed her to "redo" her albums. "At first, I couldn't see how it was possible," she confessed. "Nobody wants to start over on their homework if, on the way to school, the wind blows your book report away." But now, Swift views the process as "a movie."

"I'm on a quest for horcruxes," she revealed, drawing inspiration from the Harry Potter series. "And I'm also on a mission for infinity stones [from the Marvel universe.] Every time I add a new one to my collection, I hear Gandalf's voice in my head."
In November, Swift concluded her final show for the Eras Tour in São Paulo, Brazil. She is set to resume touring in February 2024, with Tokyo as the first stop.
