Taylor Swift is getting fans excited for her upcoming 11th studio album with another special surprise.
Amazon Alexa users can now hear a special audio message from Swift herself by asking the device about the release date of The Tortured Poets Department. When prompted, Alexa hints at a special guest before revealing Swift's voice saying, "Hey! It's Taylor Swift. My new album, The Tortured Poets Department, will be out this Friday."
Swift's message concludes with a mysterious hint, "All's fair in love and poetry."
The Amazon Alexa recording is just one of the messages Swift has been sharing on music streaming platforms leading up to the release of TTPD on Friday, April 19th. In a voice note on Apple Music last month, the pop star greeted listeners with, "Hi, Apple Music, it's Taylor. Thank you for pre-adding The Tortured Poets Department. I'm really excited to share it with you on April 19th. I can't wait for you to listen!"
In a recent black-and-white video posted on Spotify, Swift marked the release week of her album by encouraging fans to pre-save the album and stay tuned for more updates. Additionally, Spotify introduced a TTPD countdown clock on Swift's artist page.
As part of the TTPD festivities, SiriusXM transformed Channel 13 into a Swift-themed channel, inspired by her lucky number. Fans can enjoy listening to songs from Swift's complete discography from April 7 to May 6.
Taylor Swift recently dropped playlists on Apple Music that reflect the different stages of heartbreak: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance. Fans, known as Swifties, pointed out that the "Denial" playlist, titled "I Love You, It's Ruining My Life," features songs believed to be about Swift's former beau Joe Alwyn. This added more fuel to the speculation that Swift's latest album, TTPD, draws heavily from their breakup. (The news of their split came out in April 2023 after being together for six years.)
Swift recently shared a voice note discussing a playlist called "Denial," which features songs about overlooking red flags and experiencing denial and delusion.
Are you looking forward to any specific track from the upcoming album "The Tortured Poets Department"?
Swift has been leaving more TTPD Easter eggs on Apple Music by including word clues in her song lyrics. The first hint was found in the lyrics of her song "Glitch" from the album "Midnights," where capitalized letters spelled out the word "hereby." Fans, known as Swifties, have also discovered hidden words like "conduct" in the song "Peace" from the album Folklore, and "this" in "Better Than Revenge (Taylor’s Version)" from Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).
On Tuesday, April 16, the songwriting credits for TTPD were revealed. Swift once again collaborated with her frequent partners Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner, along with Post Malone and Florence Welch from Florence + the Machine. Post Malone will feature on the track "Fortnight," while Florence Welch will appear on "Florida!!!."
